I received a letter from the water company saying I have a possible leak. When I pulled the covers off the water irrigation area, there was water in there. It is turned off so I am assuming that the leak is there.... anyone have someone that they can recommend?

it is a rainbird? system

Sounds like you may need new valve(s)/manifold. Should be an easy fix, or if you want someone else to do it, shouldn't cost much in labor.

I am a complete idiot!!! guy came..the two covers where the water was is not the problem.... its the pipe thing in the front yard... he turned the sprinkler system off (I don't use it anyway). the thing in the front is rusty and rotted so I am going to have him replace it since I might sell the house...$250. no charge for the trip call....

I even had the meter wrong.. I've been watching the gas meter.. the water meter is under a cover on the sidewalk..

so now I shall go bang my head against a wall for a while..... argh
