Source? The case appears to have been settled.

The guard that was shot, he's 'unavailable' to the media right now. The PD knows exactly where he is. He owes the media NOTHING right now. He's got a lot of healing to do alone.

500 million is peanuts to the MGM. They have insurance out the ying yang. If that isn't enough, they'll just use cash or sell the Mirage. No big deal for them.

We have a great sheriff.

MGM is not the only casino the shooter was a whale, Wynn said he knew him also. The MGM unfortunately for them had a hotel with a view of the concert.
Lombardo is crap. Disbanding the LVMPD gang unit was only his first boondoggle, now he's got this shooting. How many times is the story going to change? Every 30 seconds?

Although its not being posted here... the guard in question was apparently using multiple names under the same SSN - this issue is being tracked on another message board on the 'net.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if he was actually illegal and bailed for Mexico like a number of other LV residents did when Trump changed the ICE policies....

Also, I don't know if its totally true, not fact checked it myself personally, but some on another board say that he has a criminal record with a Felony conviction. If I was facing prison and had a citizenship in another country, I might bail too.

There's the problem right there.
Not as much footage to be seen as one would think because many cameras were 'out'.
Lets see if that makes it out on the news.
Yeah, I bet they were out. If you believe that I have some beachfront property to sell you in Florida.

They put a lot of these on a screen showing 4 or 9 cameras on one monitor but it's pretty difficult to watch and process much more that four views at once. These CCTV systems are intended to be able to be reviewed later to catch an incident that already happened, providing they have enough memory on their DVRs to go back the needed 4 or 5 days when the shooter or other incident occurred. Most legitimate operations should be able to go back at least 30 days.

In Las Vegas, the casino is always watching

The shooter himself unsuccessfully sued for a slip n fall injury at another casino that was dismissed in 2014. Maybe that was his whole motivation, makes about as much sense as anything else.

NRS says they have to keep it for 90... and I bet they keep it longer than that. Storage is cheap.

If anything, hopefully they'll learn from this and update their security practices. Because as we can see, they're severely lacking in that department. Wynn seems like he's more on it with security.
I've only been here a few years but from what I have seen.. MGM is sucking this town dry.

Meh, its kept quite to avoid hurting the tourist industry in Las Vegas. Metro and the casinos routinely work in kahootz to bury stories.

Now they are saying Mandalay Bay did NOT call Metro and report the security guard had been shot.
I rather doubt this. I think Metro is trying to cover their ass on the notoriously slow response times in Las Vegas.

It should have been before the shooter opened fire.

Someone else mentioned Metro's response was so fast they must have been on site. I would bet quite a few were on site or darn close to it. Metro would assign officers to any event that's going to attract thousands of extra people to an area. And most likely an increased presence in the general area and the casinos close by. So there were quite a few officers in the immediate vicinity of the venue before Paddock started shooting.

Not a word about Paddock's storage unit yet but I am still betting he has one!
Any security would have access to a service elevator and the ability to override the elevator buttons to make it go where they want it to.
