Agreed that there's a family dynamic there that points to both nature, with genetics, and the nurture aspect with how the psychopath lawless convict father figure played a role.

It's interesting this brother was under FBI investigation prior to the shooting in an unrelated case while his brother was methodically plotting a mass shooting that didn't ping their radar.

Hmm..and did anyone else notice that at the same time this news story breaks the FBI investigators released documents in the Sandy Hook shooting that reveals the shooter was a known hacker that already had a visit from the FBI for a hacking he did in the 9th grade and their post shooting investigation showed he was a closet pediophile as well. They said he advocated for these adult child relationships. Blargh!

Creepy McCreepfaces all of them.

I bet there is a map somewhere that shows where the bodies were found. I still remember listening(dispatch feed) to some of the first cops on the scene saying multiple 419's, code for dead bodies.

A long time ago when I was in the police academy we had a lesson about being shot. One of the things I learned was most people, depending on where they are shot, do not just drop dead. That's only in the movies. Usually you have enough time to at least try to seek cover. And it makes perfect sense to me that someone who was wounded would go to Mandalay Bay. One of the closest places that would surely be able to help.

No word yet about investigators finding his storage unit. I am almost positive there is one out there.

A lot of those people never had a chance to run.

Someone told me today that the unions in Las Vegas actively recruit undocumented workers. How can that be true? Wouldn't the company worry about losing their gaming license? I ask this because it has been reported that Campos left for Mexico shortly after the shooting and that he was not a licensed security guard. I have no idea if any of this is true or not.

I would believe it. I am aware of a few illegals actively working for the casinos including Mandalay Bay itself. Oftentimes "Industry" jobs obtain hires by word of mouth, so I'm not sure it's so much active recruiting as it is one illegal gets in the door and tells their friends how they did it. I don't really have specifics but it is my understanding that these workers typically use stolen identities to gain employment.

Also,, most of these are working in back of the house type positions so it's not really clear to me that a gaming license would necessarily be in jeopardy. I believe the gaming license and the NRS that governs it only applies to the casino floor.

How can a union legally represent an undocumented person? Do they pay dues?

There may be some attempts to organize places that employ undocumented workers. The Strip however is very unlikely. There are people with undetectable documents who might work on the strip but otherwise no. And there are all sorts of people who would be glad to point it out if they knew of it...the non union shops for instance. And you can bet the union shops would turn in a non union shop if they detected illegals.

Don't a lot of the casino jobs require sherrif:'s or health cards? I would think the application process for those would pick up if the applicants for them were illegal aliens.

Culinary Union is known to donate to immigration advocacy groups and sponsor rallies and that's about it. If there is an illegal resident working in a resort. They must have some very fine papers to get by the USCIS E verify check. The resort does not willingly hire undocumented workers.
