This was the first thing I saw when I woke up this morning. I'm really sad and I'm so tired of stuff like this happening too often. I'm at a loss for words after this...... my thoughts with the victim's families, and I hope Vegas recovers quickly after this.

Vegas is going to take a big hit from this. I think it's going to be a ghost town for the next few weeks.

The sheriff is giving a press conference and is saying the number of injured is over 400, number dead is over 50.

Gunman killed himself before metro entered his room, they found at least 10 guns there.

How do you check in with that many guns?

Listening to my police scanner, a reporter and cameraman from NBC were found sneaking around in the bushes at Mandalay. They were run off.

Come on people, stay away! Metro has enough to do.

Have you been to the Mandalay
we stayed there couple of times but haven't been to Vegas in 5 yrs or more

You have access to a garage beside the hotel from several floors
All you have to do is check in and self-park your car which is allowed--
And then you can go back and forth to your car as many times as you want...
I think this hotel allows anyone to park for $ -- not just guests--but it has been while since we stayed there

I don't think the sheriff said 400 INJURED as in shot--
He said 400 admitted to hospital
I am sure people are there for various reasons not just bullet injuries--heart attacks, anxiety, injuries from falls/trampling by crowd---although I imagine shooting into crowd like that there are many people hit by bullets

Some brave cops there...

Why does color matter?

It's pretty much still that way. I was there a couple times this year. In March I had company from out of town for Spring break and we went to the aquarium there. I ended up doing a belly flop in the middle of the casino trying to run circles around a 15 year old as we were all walking threw. I got rug burn from that one. Ouch.

Then in May we had our Residency Graduation after party there in a suite. There was lots of back and forth from the parking garage stocking the room with booze and party eats. I waited three years for that day and got pretty blasted from all the shots they were doing. Ended up taking my shoes off in the hotel lobby before going to the parking lot and I guess I made a scene because I didn't want to leave, or so I'm told. We should have just gotten our own room like several others did there before the party started.

I'm not sure about that. The odds of lightening striking twice and all.

Arizona 15 reported there were 8 automatic assault weapons and 200 magazines in the room. The shooter had also put cameras in the hall so he could see who was coming. This took planning. He did not just wake up and decide to do this. Just the weapons and ammo would fill a pickup truck and weigh @400 lbs. His line of sight into the concert venue was close to 400 yds.
