The problem with letting people out to make left turns in front of you is that they usually cannot see traffic in the oncoming lane that is travelling in the same direction as you. It can causes accidents. Is it legal or illegal?

I have seen some people stopped and let the driver out to make a left turn in front of me and caused traffic back up. Is it legal or illegal? It is really risky and annoying.

Are you referring to people making left hand turns out of a parking lot?

Sounds like it. Apparently being courteous is supposed to be against the law.

It works great if every vehicle involved is on the same page. I've witnessed it actually working smoothly about once. Usually causes a backup for who knows how long, no less than 3 ticked off drivers, horns honking, middle fingers and possibly an accident. I'm joking but not really.

Once was in that situation where it was difficult for someone to make left turn so I let woman make the turn. She does and a car in lane right of me going in the same direction barrels into her. I felt terrible.

I let them go and make the left in front of me. If these cars coming up beside you to pass don't have the foresight to know that you've stopped to let someone through, then they don't have the foresight to know when a pedestrian is walking pass you into their path either.

You're not to block driveways or intersections. So you are required to let people out. As far as I know anyway.

I saw an accident like this happen. Someone was trying to turn into Boca Park and a car stopped to let them go through. Young Man that hit the person, stopped in the lane, got out of his car and SAT ON HIS ROOF, PLAYING WITH HIS PHONE.

Sometimes it doesn't pay not to try to be nice on the road.

People (vast majority as I've observed) are oblivious to this (as in it doesn't affect me right now). At an outbound T intersection to Lake Mead Pkwy there's a fire station on the right, and they have an exit across to head the other way (a break in the median), and cars block this all the time when there's a red light. Oblivious.

It isn't courtesy to entice a driver to make an incredibly dangerous maneuver, and one that is one of the biggest predictors of a fatality. Courtesy is moving traffic along, so the left-turner can view traffic in all the lanes and proceed only when safe and they have yielded the right of way to every threatening vehicle.
