scorpions!
Anyone having scorpion problems? We never saw one in Vegas until we moved to this house three years ago. This house is not new, 20 years old. In 3 years, I have found about 25 total! 12 of them in the house!! Was just curious if somone else out there was having simillar issues. Thanks

Do you have any palm trees around your home?

Yes, they are the whitish brown ones, some small some pretty big! We have a tall palm in the front yard (which by the way is free to a good home if somone wants it), and the neighbors behind us have two palms. We have lived in other areas before with palms and never saw a scorpion one.

With the weather changing they are on the move. Make sure you trim the tree. There is a dust that you can buy that is called Diatomaceous earth that you can buy at Home Depot or Lowes in the pool cleaning area. It cuts up their body, and they eventually die. We put the dust around the homes after we do a regular treatment on the outside, and it helps them injust the chemical better. They have hard bodied shells so it makes it hard to use chemicals on them. But if you use the dust it works great!!!! We also do a black light inspection for them, to see where they are coming from. With the black light they glow a bright green.

Get a black light and go hunting. Try and destroy any likely hiding places. Sometimes with the black light you can back track where the source is.
Doubtful you can wipe them out but you can sure cut back the numbers.

A lot of people mistake the vinegarroon for scorpions. There used to be a lot more of those around here than scorpions. I think they are harmless.
