We are seriously considering a move to the Vegas area in about a year. I moved to Northern Virginia from Henderson around 1994. It's been a long time since I've lived there, but my family was there for five years and I really enjoyed living there back when I was a kid. I've been back to Vegas a couple of times to visit over the years and I've really enjoyed the area as an adult while on vacation.

As for living there, from what I can gather online, it seems like the economy has picked up a bit and the real estate market appears stronger, but I'm wondering about the job market. My spouse works for a company where he should be able to transfer pretty easily. However, my resume is rather specialized in non-profit housing management helping the homeless and I know there is a large homeless population, but I don't see a lot of job openings in this field. I am considering doing something else to make side hustle until I found something. Any suggestions or advice?

Thanks!

I would probably concentrate on the city/county/state websites. Also the feds/VA. We have a lot of homeless veterans too. Habitat for Humanity has stores here but I have not heard anything about local projects or them asking for volunteers.

The good news is that anything you could snag on these websites will pay well compared to the private sector and have benefits.

Great tips, I've poked around some of these, and will definitely keep them on my radar. Thank you!
