scenic drive around Vegas
I am renting a convertable for the day in Las Vegas. What is a nice scenic
drive that would take a few hours. Maybe out around Lake mead or Lake las
vegas? I have never been to Vegas, I want to get up early one morning
and drive around, see some desert, cacti, lakes, and anything else cool.
Any hot tips on where cops are would be good too, as it is a fast car, and
I hope to not get out of hand and get a ticket. Oh yeah, and any info on
the traffic/driving conditions on the strip too.
Any details/info would be appreciated.
Thanks

Sounds great ! I will give it a try. Mid May. Going to rent a roadster. Probably Lotus Elise. What are my survival chances if that pretty piece breaks down. LOL

The road going into the Valley of Fire is a lot of fun to drive. Its like a roller coaster. Not many cops around. You asked about traffic on the stip... Its heavy traffic most of the time, but pretty smooth in the mornings especially on weekdays. Most chaos ensues around dinner time.

Watch for Park Rangers on the North Shore Road of Lake Mead.
You would also enjoy a trip up Kyle Canyon (Highway 157) to the Lodge, then back down the mountain a little ways to Highway 158 over to Lee Canyon. Go left on 156 to the LV Ski & Snoboard Pk, then back down 156 to US 95 and back home.

For a survival kit, take plenty of water, some sunscreen, a hat and a long sleve shirt. You can cook really fast in the desert.
