Big difference I see there is that it is more affordable than Las Vegas. I also noticed it is very quiet there. The sidewalks get packed up by 10pm in most places.
Let's face it, people want to live in Las Vegas for the excitement and the choices of things to do and places to go, and for the convenience of things. Albuquerque just can't compare, it doesn't have the Las Vegas Strip! That's why more people moved here and purchased homes ...and why there is less foreclosures in Albuquerque and MORE foreclosures here in LV. It just boils down to the fact that more people bought homes here in Las Vegas, than they did in Albuquerque. Hence, the higher number of foreclosures in LV...
I mean, lets face it. Ask folks where they'd like to own a home...
Las Vegas or Albuquerque...
You know most of them will pick Las Vegas....

Really? In 2007, the population of LV was 553,000; in Albuquerque the 2007 population was 523,590. WikiAnswers - What is the population of Albuquerque

Really I never knew that everybody will pick Las Vegas since I know at least 15 the last two years that move there and came back within a year or so!!!
Everybody moves to Las Vegas for the wrong reasons and its you did too!!! You moved to Las Vegas for The Strip??? That is pretty pathetic.
I run across people and most of them that where born in Las Vegas hate it. It is dirty, crime ridden, every scumb and scam everywhere. Drive a couple miles away from the Casinos let me tell you, nothing but dirt and filth!!!
Keep living the Vegas dream!!

Sheriff, I should have stated that more people live in the Las Vegas Valley, not just Las Vegas. I figured you would pick on that...but that's just your nature.
And Homelessman...I'm sorry if you are indeed, destitute and have such a poor outlook on life.
Some of us live quite well here in Las Vegas...through good planning, hard work and a good life. I've been here for decades, so nobody "scammed" me into moving here. Sorry if that's what happened to you and you lost all your money...and your happiness as well.
Perhaps if things had worked out better for you, you would have a little bit more positive outlook on life.
Nevertheless, be well and I hope you find peace.

anyone else think HOMELESS and sheriff are the same person?
the posts do share a certain similarity (aside from the dislike of vegas). the same insults, the same rantings, the same nonsense, and the same blinders that prevent seeing anything beyond their own sad outlook on the world around them.
sure the sheriff actually seems to be able to write complete sentences using proper english....but, not being an expert on multiple personality disorders, it wouldn't surprise me to learn that different personalities display different grammatical skills.
**oh, and for the record, i would have a really hard time choosing between ABQ and vegas. Vegas has significantly more of the city life i enjoy (not the strip), but ABQ has more outdoor variety (only a few hour drive to white water playing!) and NM green chiles.

Yes, very good deduction. I will soon be homeless upon my parole, and I am so happy you enjoy the "city life" ---- culture, higher education, arts, entertainment, health care, diverse industry, and overall high quality of life LV offers. Live, explore, and enjoy all the fine amenities LV has to offer.

Let me guess you went to Google and that is where you found the facts. Funny thing it does not tell you that all these car companies subcontract most of there work to tool and die shops. Google that idiot.
As for the dotcom companies most of them went belly up that where listed as stocks. From Rare Medium, Excite@home, Egghead, Boo.com, so many of them I can even begin to name them all since it is hundreds of companies. Google that idiot.
Las Vegas boomtown is over. Mark my words get out. It is over.

don't get all upset w/ me because you can't write a competent post.
couple things:
a) personal insults are the mark of someone w/ a losing argument
b) if you are going to call me an "idiot", at least use correct grammar...ever heard of a comma? you are just embarrassing yourself.
but to address your "points":
a) you stated there were "hundreds of car makers" and now there are only "3 left". not the case, which i pointed out. you can try to change your argument now to loosely suit your case (aka "oh, i meant to say tool and die people", etc.) , but your initial exaggeration still stands. and i still maintain that in the early 1900s there weren't hundreds of any type of manufacturing businesses in detroit. maybe by the middle of the century, but again, that is not what you said.
as for using google to get my facts here....i don't think you really understand what the word 'fact' means...i didn't present any - just told you you needed to brush up on your history. this maybe part of the problem...you don't know what constitutes a fact. (perhaps you should google it.... )
b) yes, i did use google to look at the dot com crash...and i cited information illustrating my point. all you have done is name a few failed ones and eluded to "hundreds of other companies". until you can provide some evidence to back up your claim that there was a 90% folding rate in one year, your argument is flaccid.
based on your posts and resulting lack of credibility, you can trust that very few people will "mark your words".

Unless precisely phrased as the "City of Las Vegas" you presume the mailing address.

I've been following the drama on this board for a while and find these two quite humorous.
