Do you know if there is a certain criteria that has to be met as well?

Why the hell you posting this on here? If there is real concern you should be at the courthouse or on the court website.

Welcome to Las Vegas Justice Court

This seems like an overreaction.

Good grief

You know how when you call a hospital and they say “if this is an emergency hang up and call 911”? Well when you have to get a restraining order IT IS an emergency and you should hang up citydata and call 911.

Good question..,.cuz u asked I now know a lot! Each state is diff..$120 -400.
Las Vegas its more up to the judge..he could waive it.
And whether temporary or permanent, etc...it has big repersuccions on the alleged abuser !
So it should not be out of some revenge...that you will cool down from.

It's fine to ask these questions here..good grief is right....we are like a family here.

Thanks guys- I didn't think it was that big of a deal to ask a question and I am not in immediate danger.

It's a very long story involving a family member so I made a phone call first to her Mom (she's 31 and an adult but very codependent on her Mom- my sister). She did tell her daughter to knock the **** off but again she's an adult so...we will see. Once more incident and I will be filing because it involves my daughter who is 17.

There's a lot of history here and without making this a very long post I put up with a lot of crap and abuse (physical and mental) that happened to my daughters and me because of my Mom who lived with my sister. Sister was my best friend but at some point I just can't deal with the niece anymore. My Mom passed in April and because of the crap caused by this niece the day my Mom died, I am now at odds with most of the family because they don't live here and understand the depth of her mental illness. It's sad really. But I have to do what is right for me and my kids. Since my husband passed they are all I have.

The niece just can't stand the fact that I no longer have anything to do with her or my sister. At first I reached out and no effort on her part so fine I'll leave it alone and now it's been 6 months. There have been emails and texts but now the niece has shown up in the early morning like 4am texting my daughter I'm outside. I love you. Please come outside. OK I am leaving before I get caught.

At some point I am worried about this escalating however we have never filed any reports on her before so there is no written history of anything happening. This is why I asked about criteria because I am sure we can't just walk in and say we are scared of this person please file a report. A couple people have said they believe she is dangerous.

I made this as short as possible but there's a whole 15-20 year history there.
