Not sure why Zillow estimates are no good. I'm not a real estate person and have never owned a home.

I looked at a house in Santa Clara,CA that I lived in in 1987 and it now is worth 1.5 million. Ranch style 3 bedroom and 2 baths.

Lake mead and MLK was definitely not a good area. MLK and Craig much better.

I agree. Glad you are happier.

My point with the Zillow estimates, it that the estimate skyrocketed and exceeded the asking price once it hit the mls.

Kind of like Kelley blue book for cars..all over the place

Happier by leaps and bounds. Quite an indoctrination though. If the market ever becomes a buyer's market here, I would like to purchase a condo and I'm sure I will need advice.

Thanks for the insight.

You want a comparable city? Try somewhere like Kansas City or Indianapolis, population about the same and incomes about in line. Those are much cheaper housing cities. Why compare a top 10 metro area to a place in the 30s?

you can't compare Vegas to Indianapolis or Kansas City. Not even close... Vegas is a city by itself, you need to compare to a tourist trap... maybe Orlando?

I was just making a point, don't compare it to a major size city with higher incomes. Yes, Orlando is a pretty good comparison too. Fact is Vegas is not really cheap anymore for housing, it's driven by proximity to California and also second home demand. I remember paying $106k for my first home in Green Valley in1994, back then it was definitely a bargain.

Aint Las Vegas one of the fastest growing cities in America? I dont know about Philly being high paying city. What do they have? It is no NYC with Wall Street, or tourism, MSM. Its almost a poor man's college town, whereas Boston is the a rich man's college town. DC/NOVA I give you that. The Raiders, and NHL have moved into town. It looks like more is on the way.
