There is a lot on the list that is much less than it appears. Much of the stuff heavily overlaps and has overlapping membership. In fact much of the Nevada structure is staffed at levels well below that needed to function well. Standard joke in my industry is that the Real Estate Division is staffed only well enough to collect the fees. And there is some truth to it.

So without head count and budget figures it does not mean much.

Dig in and it becomes clear that the bulk of the money goes to a limited number of things. Health Services for instance is 40% of the expenditure.

I don't care if they are understaffed or not, they're still spending tax money on it and it's beyond the scope of government business.

You shouldn't need a license to sell something. There shouldn't be a big building to house the people in charge of the licensing. On the protection front, this can all be handled by one consumer agency. It's all a waste of money and resources.

Right off the top of the list

1 Attorney General

I guess we need that

2 Bureau of Consumer Protection (Consumer's Advocate)

This negates the need for dozens, if not hundreds, of other agencies.

3 Fraud Control Unit for Industrial Insurance
4 Fraud Control Unit for Insurance

It's the same damn thing and can easily be handled by the BCP

5 Unit for the Investigation and Prosecution of Crimes Against Older Persons

You mean the police' job?

6 Medicaid Fraud Control Unit

Medicaid shouldn't exist in the first place, so this vestige shouldn't either.

7 Office of Military Legal Assistance

This is part of the AG and doesn't need to exist

8 Nevada Council for the Prevention of Domestic Violence

WTF? This is a police issue

9 Office of Ombudsman for Victims of Domestic Violence

Part of the AG

10 Office of Advocate for Missing or Exploited Children (Children's Advocate)

Remind me what, exactly, we're paying the police to do?

11 Committee for the Statewide Alert System

Police issue

12 Office of Statewide Coordinator for Children Who Are Endangered by Drug Exposure

Oh my jesus christ just shoot me.

13 Technological Crime Advisory Board

The police are completely useless.......

14 Gaming Division

Has no business existing. Anything the do can be handled by the BCP

15 Substance Abuse Working Group

F U in the A

16 Advisory Committee to Study Laws Concerning Sex Offender Registration

O M F G!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so we're paying for people to study laws????
GTFO of here

17 Secretary of State

I guess we need this.

That's just a tiny fraction of the list and that's just the list for Nevada.

NV, especially Vegas is now on the slippery downward slope of Californication, or at least all the negative parts of it, without the good weather.

You do not seem to understand this area. For instance you keep calling for "police". Who on earth do you think the AG is? And there are other functions in the Executive that are the police. And this is really the place for a state wide police function.

You are welcome to your position on professional boards and on a limited basis I may even agree. But there are a number of things where professional boards are needed and useful.

The gaming board was critical to the creation of the NV gaming industry and still serves a useful role.

And for some reason you think there is a saving by moving stuff to BCP. That in no way makes any sense,

The most important thing is to raise enough money for the illegals' benefits. Wouldn't want to put a dent in the democrats voting base.

Get rid of the physical school and move to at home studies. Everyone is connected. Each child learns at their pace. No peer pressure . No bullying. More personal extra help and tutoring via video connections to educators. Social development is up to parents on what extra activities they join, sports, dance, musical instrument, etc. Money would be better spent on teachers instead of maintaining physical buildings. The world is going that way, might as well lead the charge and improve the education while saving a ton of money.

Your post indicates you cannot learn that right wing garbage is not the answer to all questions.

I learned to weld well enough in 6 months to get certified watching youtube videos.
Normally, in a school setting, it's 2 years to get certified.

I learned how to build roll cages on youtube. Cages I've built have passed tech inspections.
I learned how to do multitrack recording and post processing on youtube.
I learned photography on youtube.
There's very few things you can't learn this way. Doctor, lawyer, engineer, and a few other things.
everything else, youtube is better than any class I've attended.

If I could go back in time and choose to go to school or do a youtube curriculum, I would take youtube without hesitating.

One of the best parts of youtube is there's multiple sources. If one person doesn't explain it how you understand it, someone else will.
For example, I was trying to figure out suspension geometry to build an offroad buggy. I watched a dozen videos on it. Most of it went over my head. Then I found this one dude who explained it, in 60 seconds, well enough for me to grasp the whole thing.
Plus I can rewatch videos numerous times if I need to. I can pause videos as well.

I can't tell you how many times I've missed what a teacher said and ended up lost.
