I confused the state population with clark county population.
BUT I did not confuse the tourism numbers.
As you can see almost 50 million flew in. That does not count the millions that drove in from California, Utah, Arizona, and other states.
That's close enough to a million to call it.

Nope again. that number includes locals traveling and other travelers who do not stop here. There are 47 million room nights rented. At two guests per room that gives us 94 million visitor nights or 257,000 per night.

There are lots of precise numbers on all this from the Convention and Visitors Authority...

Relatives....
Camping....

You don't typically have just 2 people in an air bnb. They usually have 6 or 8 per house.
Whole families show up at relatives houses.
Whole families go to hotels.
Whole families go camping.
2 couples will often share a room.


But anyway. I'm done with this. It doesn't matter. We can all agree that there's a whole lot of people in vegas.

7. Never run out of places to eat or shop- we like that.

8. News stories on the daily displaying pretty heavy crime. We moved from Albuquerque so we are used to that aspect but it almost seems more intense here or atleast many of the crimes seem more brutal and strange.

9. The News is always on. More hours of news than anywhere I’ve lived. Maybe it’s making me paranoid.

10. The vibes in general just seem to be low at most places. I think Vegas has a real dark cloud hanging over it. But many nice people as well.

Conclusion: it’s not bad enough that I want to pack up and move but we will finish our task and stack money til my kids start school (2 years away) and likely be outta here. Not a forever home but not bad enough to make me run away immediately either. It seems to have a ton of potential but too many criminals and idiots muddying it up. Maybe that’s every where nowadays?

I agree with the drivers, I have seen people drive perpendicular to traffic here. Originally from the San Bernardino area of SoCal, I'm accustomed to distracted, uncaring drivers. It does seem more like a big city here. It does have a hustle feel to it, even in 7-11 stores, gas stations, etc. There are some down to earth, friendly people though. You will find a few....
