LA rush is almost an order of magnitude worse than Las Vegas. People in Vegas get annoyed at a 10 minute delay. People in LA feel the same about an hour.

There is nothing comparable to the 405 or 101 or the 91 through the canyon.

Have improvements to the "Gragson" resulted in less congestion at the "bowl"?

Actually I think they made it better but feel worse. There is clearly a queue formed on the 95 south to 15 south in the AM...but I think it actually improves the flow on 15. You now shoot down 95 mostly at the limit and then take 5 minutes to make the transistion to the 15. Feels bad but actually better than it was.

The evening is no comparison. The 15 north to 95 north flows very smoothly. The congestion tends to be short of Lake Mead where things slow for a mile or two.

Well hey sometimes that could be a good thing.

No wonder why our taxes are so high.

And I wonder if that study with the mention of the 95 was done before or after the Engineers (I use that word loosely) forgot about the 15N to 95S ramp. Yes the scag bowl was designed and they forgot to include that ramp. So when the final workers drove off with the heavy machinery, we had 3 lanes 95 south uninterrupted. Then within a month they figured out they forgot about the 15N to 95S ramp. So they just repainted some lines on 95 and squeezed 3 lanes into 2 to cause yet another white elephant government bureaucratic boondoggle disaster and more traffic back ups. Not to mention another merge to confuse the already bad drivers.

Probably before the widening was completed, but I "feel" for those that must commute each day at peak hours. I would guess many have come from the LA area, so this must be an improvement. My gripe with local traffic is the "speed racers"--- those who run lights, use the shoulder, ignore right turn-only lanes, don't signal, etc. It must be very important to these that a 22 min commute, becomes a 20 min commute.

I seldom have a problem with motorcycle riders, as they have decided that riding is more important than living, as generally they will be the fatality. However, the jackasses in cars usually ruin an innocent parties' life.
