Consider an adult dog from a shelter.

Make sure your homeowners insurance doesn't exclude them! There are always Dobies in rescue here already trained and ears finished! People buy them and find out they can't keep them. My Dobie is melanistic. All black. That's probably why the breeder dumped him. It's a show/breed disqualification. But my dog is beautiful even if he will never win an AKC show! My boy has his natural ears and tail. No modifications!

Dobies are very sweet family dogs. Mine is wherever I am. Loves toys, balls, and walks. They are very alert and naturally protective. No one can make their house burglar proof. But a big Dobie in the yard makes the house down the street look like a better target!

This is a big concern of ours. For some stupid reason the pool equipment at our house is on the side, outside of the gate. Why they would do it like that, is beyond me. I'm not sure if we can have some type of shed built around it or a mesh enclosure. Not sure but I know we need to do something.

I've seen that a lot when I go walking. As long as your pool equipment is noisy and doesn't include anything fancy, there is little risk of it being stolen.

A repair guy we had told me that a lot of the houses built around 2000 installed pools like that. Must have been a safer time LOL.

Our first improvements are as follows as an update:

1. Padlock used, is now high security one, and very hard to cut.
2. We installed Blink Battery powered cameras with motion detection
and night view. Last 2 year on one battery guaranteed (amazon company)
and has perfectly clear night view. Anytime someone walks around the
pool equipment we get a push notice on the phone. Bushes etc. do not trigger
it.

We will have a couple of more improvements done, but for now, no one can
come close to our pool equipment without us getting a push notice on the
phone and being recorded in HD. We have now also power backup,
means, even cutting power will have our internet and cameras working.

Thus, for your outside pool equipment, I now recommend:
