If you fail your smog test the first time in Las vegas, and if you pass it the second time, do you have to go personally to the DMV?

If you pass the Smog test, it is automatically sent to the DMV office. At some establishments where you do smog, you can even register your vehicle. If you decide to go to the DMV, just head straight to a kiosk.

You can go through the process after passing smog at AAA offices as well.

It costs and extra $10 to renew your tag at a place like Jiffy Smog. We just did 3 vehicles and it's worth every penny. The new tags came in about a week.

Or you could skip all of the hassle or save some money by renewing online at the NV DMV website for free (once the smog is complete). As above, the new registration will arrive in the mail in about a week.

I smogged my car for $17, went on MyDMV, entered my tax exemption number and renewed. I received my mail a week later. MyDMV emails a reminder six weeks out. There are several less cost-effective alternatives.

Do you drive it less than 5,000 miles a year?
