Love the commercials. This year with the old lady kicking the guy in the balls is hilarious and effective. I changed my schedule immediately. Also loved the one when the daughter comes home at sunrise and pretends to be turning off Sundays watering when caught.

They state, that they will pay 50% of a new smart controller.
Does anyone know, how much a smart controller costs incl. installation,
and how long it takes to pay off with water savings?

I recently bought one of these. Easy to install. Connects to WiFi. I set up four season programs. There's a screen where you turn them on/off. There is a calendar function that shows when the watering will happen/has happened. I'm hoping that at some point they will tie this into the programs so it will switch them automatically.

If you already have one the wiring is easy. Programming is simple enough that you can do it.

Edit: Connects to Wifi, not Bluetooth. Doing two things at once again.

Thanks Tek!

I understand that they would have sensors to measure the moisture of the soil and only water as much as needed.
Does this pay off? One area could be wet while another not. I see many bottlenecks here.

I don't measure the moisture. I adjust the time according to the rules they post. No grass, just bushes and a couple of trees.

Considering how little it rains here I'm not sure it's necessary unless you have some low spots.
