I am looking to setup barn or tiny house after purchasing a land near pahrump. Question is electricity. Couple of lands I look up has electric poles nearby but I am not sure how to setup or how much it will cost and process involved. Does anyone have experience? Thanks.,

It depends on how far and how many poles are needed.

A friend went through this recently on his 120 acres, with electric on the street. At first, they were telling him, he needed to build a pretty big house, with a pretty big heatpump, but he managed to build a 600 st plus full basement, about 2500 feet from the road, with a ductless split system...almost nothing, which is a lot less than septic...btw, he is about 20 miles from a nuke plant....contact the local electric company. Off grid, with batteries, I will say 20-40k.

Buy multiple power walls and go off grid with solar.

If its anything like pulling internet in, about $5k for every 10 ft unless you can get multiple people on the route between the nearest pole/substation to split the cost with you, or enough people to interest the power company to put it in for free.

You can probably put solar and a battery bank in for substantially less money at this point.

It cost me about $2500 to go about 100 ft. in Sandy Valley using Valley electric.
