Hello,

Where i live in Louisiana, the gas price is currently at $1.82/G (happy about it). Produce prices are generally reasonable here comparing to some other places i visited.

What are the things that are less expensive (or very cheap) in Las Vegas metro area, comparing to other States/cities?

I agree on the fruit and vegetable prices.

4 rolls of toilet paper for 79 cents at Smiths, stuff like that. A whole 5 pound of potatoes for $1.99. How can you beat that?

I always go a couple extra miles to La Bonita or Marianna's for my produce and sometimes chicken, or a pork shoulder depending on the prices in their ad. Red, green peppers 3 or 4 for $1, boneless skinless chicken breast $1.29lb sometimes less, chicken legs $.50lb, potatoes 10lb for $1, onions 4lbs for $1 along with so many other great prices. I just heard that La Bonita is opening a new store in Henderson in the area of Sunset and Green Valley Pkwy which will make it much more convenient for me.

Gas is about 50 cents a gallon cheaper than Los Angeles.

Houses are 15-50% of the equivalent neighborhood cost to Los Angeles.

I’ve noticed groceries are cheaper in Las Vegas across the board. Smith’s seems to have low prices on everything, whereas in LA one store might have cheap produce, another has better meat prices, etc.

Car washes in Las Vegas are cheaper than LA(in LA, even with a coupon it’s gonna be $12-13 for a basic wash).

And no state income tax vs CA has one of the highest state income taxes in the country.

Never pay for a red light camera ticket here, ever.

Golf, as low as $18 with a cart.

You can nab some gym memberships in town for just $10/month. Planet fitness comes to mind, and they are adequate enough.
