I bet if someone close to the strip opened their home to visitors who want to smoke and charged an entry fee they'd make a potful of money. Might have to be a leave a donation instead. Fine line between come to my house and smoke and come to my house and pay to smoke. Might be considered a business.

That would be illegal too. When the laws were approved everyone left this problem in place because they didn't want the Feds to think they were trying to attract tourists or other out of town people for weed. The way it practically got solved is the cops just stopped enforcing anything related to MJ. Sort of like how Clark County didn't want to make it seem like open containers on the street were a good idea, but since millions of tourists want to walk around with drinks in hand, the police just never enforce the rules as long as its not glass containers. Few people know that it is technically illegal to have an open drink on a public sidewalk, but no one is ever cited for it in tourist zones.

Interesting. You got a reference to a statute that makes open alcohol illegal on a public side walk?

That would be really nice to have a smoking/vaping lounge to visit while visiting Vegas. I know a few friends that would visit for sure.

I realize vaping is generally so discrete you can just vape inside the casino but it would still be cool to have an upscale smoke/vape lounge connected to a sushi joint.

Maybe the laws have changed. When I went through TAM approval a few decades ago they made it quite clear that the open container rules were strict everywhere, but that in the interest of keeping tourists happy they selectively did not enforce it on the Strip. Then again there were no rules on glass containers either, so glad they came to their senses as that one scared me. I remember how common it was back then to see beer bottles being carried or left on the Strip and how some even carried champagne bottles around. Seemed like a trip to the emergency room waiting to happen.
