True. Some day. Maybe.

I bet if someone close to the strip opened their home to visitors who want to smoke and charged an entry fee they'd make a potful of money. Might have to be a leave a donation instead. Fine line between come to my house and smoke and come to my house and pay to smoke. Might be considered a business.

That would be illegal too. When the laws were approved everyone left this problem in place because they didn't want the Feds to think they were trying to attract tourists or other out of town people for weed. The way it practically got solved is the cops just stopped enforcing anything related to MJ. Sort of like how Clark County didn't want to make it seem like open containers on the street were a good idea, but since millions of tourists want to walk around with drinks in hand, the police just never enforce the rules as long as its not glass containers. Few people know that it is technically illegal to have an open drink on a public sidewalk, but no one is ever cited for it in tourist zones.

Interesting. You got a reference to a statute that makes open alcohol illegal on a public side walk?

That would be really nice to have a smoking/vaping lounge to visit while visiting Vegas. I know a few friends that would visit for sure.

I realize vaping is generally so discrete you can just vape inside the casino but it would still be cool to have an upscale smoke/vape lounge connected to a sushi joint.

https://www.shouselaw.com/nevada/open-container.html

Quote:
Nevada Locations General Open Container Laws

The Strip
Pedestrians may walk in with plastic, paper, or aluminum open containers (though aluminum is banned during some special events). Glass is always illegal.

Downtown Las Vegas
Pedestrians may walk with paper, plastic, or aluminum open containers, but they must have been purchased from venues with “tavern” licenses. On the Fremont Street Experience, open glass and aluminum containers are always illegal.

Moving vehicles and public transportation
It is unlawful for drivers or passengers to drink or possess open containers of alcohol in a vehicle. An exception is passengers in licensed limos and party buses.

Where Can You Smoke Marijuana in Las Vegas?

Quote:
When Marijuana Use is Legal in Las Vegas

In Las Vegas, it is legal to use marijuana in a private residence with the shades drawn. The activity must be concealed from view to avoid public consumption.

Residents are allowed to smoke marijuana on their patio or porch, but they can’t smoke it on the streets or sidewalk. You must have the permission of the home’s owner or landlord in order to smoke marijuana in Las Vegas.

There’s a scarcity of places where you can smoke in Las Vegas. Officials are aware of this and they’re taking action.

That means if you’ve got a friend who lives in Las Vegas, you’re in luck. What about the rest of us?
Where You Can Smoke (if You Don’t Have a Friend in Las Vegas)

If you’re a tourist who wants to smoke marijuana in Las Vegas, there’s still hope for you.

There are marijuana-friendly AirBNBs in Las Vegas, especially not far from the Strip. Just be sure to avoid casino hotels because they prohibit cannabis use.

Adults-only cannabis lounges and cafes will be opening in the future. Nevada already allows smoking in certain indoor venues, so legally, it’s easier to do in Las Vegas than other places.

For now, adults are forming their own private cannabis clubs. These adults will get together and smoke marijuana together, typically in a legal setting. Getting together with one of these groups is not only a fun social activity, but it gets you high.

Many pot clubs are open to the public and provide a safe venue to smoke. You can find many of them online.

I remember how common it was back then to see beer bottles being carried or left on the Strip and how some even carried champagne bottles around. Seemed like a trip to the emergency room waiting to happen.

Buy a vape pen, duck in to a corner somewhere, hit the vape, continue on about your business.
