Anyone know of newer / renovated 55+ community rental that has furniture included? We would like to try out living in Vegas part time for a while before deciding if we fit Vegas. Ideally the 55+ community is in Summerlin or around Rainbow in Enterprise or Rhodes Ranch and active. Our budget is between $1200-$1800 for a 2br/2ba. We would rather not renting a house as we think a condo/apartment of set up is more appealing to us. Our current house is 3800 sq ft, so down size to a 700-1000 sq ft apartment worry us a little bit but we look forward to a more active life style..

You may try some of the high rises, like the Palms, Martin. Maybe check with a realtor. I think 55+ is the best deal.
We live in a 55+, guarded and gated and I love it. The downside is we moved from a 2bdr, 2 baths 1136 to an 1811 sq ft. That does not sound like a huge difference but it is, as cleaning is a chore you do not want here in Vegas if you are active.
I know they allow a certain % of the houses here to be rentals, in our community. You may check 55 places.com. Our realtor Ellen Kaptain was great and she is on that site. She specialises in 55 and older and may know of furnished rentals.
The housing market is not getting cheaper. In the 14months we have lived here I have watched the real estate go up. The exact same model as our house, same street, 4 doors down, just sold at 324,000. We paid 255,000 14 months ago.
I do not blame you for wanting to see if you like Vegas first. We talked to the builder here in 2015 and could have gotten a brand new house for 40,000 less than what we paid, in 2017, If we would have waited another year we could not afford to buy in this community.
Not sure where you are moving from, we came from Texas, so heat is not a problem and I hate cold. Last summer I laughed and said, If that is a typical Vegas summer, I love it.
Good luck to you.

Thanks for the response. I will check out the website. What is the name of the neighborhood that you are in. Do you find it easier to meet people of your age and is the activities fun? We are from Greater SF area, so heat is going to be a concern (and so will health care). Any other 55+ neighborhood that you may recommend?

Don't waste a lot of time at it. 55+ is a real estate brokerage and will have no real access to apartments any more furnished ones. The MLS does deal with condos but month to month and furnished is rare.

Your best bet is Apartments.com which will allow filtering to senior housing and furnished. Be aware that some which claim senior housing are not actually restricted.

In general there are two versions of senior housing. There are a number of apartment complexes though only a few will offer furnished. And there are a dozen or so housing developments of the Sun City type. There are furnished homes in the residential tracts and even a few that will allow short term rentals. They will however be quite expensive for short term.

Thanks. We have owned our house for so long that I forget Apartment.com.. I did so google search and yelp search and looks like some of them are promising..

Green Leaf Louts apartment near China town (don't know if it is 55+ community but the location are great for my wife since she is a foodie but the rent is quite high..)

Altessa in Summerlin

Attiva at S. Valley View

Destination Pebble

Anyone has more suggestion that I should visit the next time I am in Vegas? (may be Feb/March)...

Ardiente is the name of the 55+ community I live in. It is close to the 15 and 215. We can be at the Smith Center in less than 25 minutes. This is a new area and food choices are not the best, coming from SF I am sure you will find it horrible. I am a great cook but had hoped not to cook so much.
Our community has many clubs and parties and it is a great community. I am not a socialite, but yes I have met a lot of nice people here. We have gone to the theatre with friends down the street. I have taken care of my neighbour's house twice as they are not full-time residents. People say Texans are so friendly, I am a Texan and I find people here in Vegas to be much more friendly.
My Spouse is an RN at the VA, hence why we chose this area. I have not used any of the health facilities and have heard it is not the best here. If I have a real need I would probably go to the Mayo Clinic. I am not a big fan of doctors.
After my spouse retires I would like to move to a high rise or to Henderson. Not that I do not like it here, but it is just too big. I love the performing arts and will never leave Vegas. I have never been to SF, so I can not compare, but for me, the weather and things to do here in Vegas makes it an ideal place. OH and property taxes, we pay 1000 dollars a year less than our small town in Texas. Our HOA dues are 200 a month but that benefits me and pays for the guards, clubhouse, 2 pools, sauna, clubhouse, jacuzzi, tennis courts, weight room.
My family could not believe I would ever leave Texas and I have lived all over including Spain and Mexico, but always went home to Texas. I can say with 99.9% I will never leave Las Vegas. I do not gamble, so not an issue. Bingo or a 5 in a slot. When we first visited Vegas in 2012 I did not want to, it was for my spouse and to celebrate our 20th Aniv. I did not know I would fall in love with this place.

I forgot to add, Sienna, in Summerlin looks nice. Our Mortg. lender lives there and loves it. It is a big community 55+ and Summerlin is wonderful with lots of food choices. Sienna is a guarded/gated. Our lender told us that we would appreciate that here. It doesn't mean you let your guard down, but it eliminates a lot of people just driving thru. Trilogy, our community builder is also building a new community in Summerlin.

Does anyone have an opinion on:

Player's Club? or

The Lido?

I have to relocate and I was going to check out those two places. I'm thinking neither of those are gated, which has me concerned a bit.

you can furnish your own place for very little money ( Offer Up and Craigslist, plus Deseret Industries thrift store ) then, you sell it before you leave if this isn’t the right town for you.

Looks like the apartment.com idea work out.. I found a couple 55+ community that has furnished rental option. I will try out staying in Vegas by doing some Airbnb and eventually to one of this 55+ community...thanks everyone for your help.
