It is a very good job if you are in shape and can run in the summer heat. You can make good cash depending where you work. It may be hard to land one if you do not know anyone that will hook you up. A personal friend of mine makes 2500 a week and he's been doing it since 1997.

It is just like everything else here service oriented, over saturated and not many are making that kind of money. My wife works for a very high end property and the valets are always complaining about how they are not making anything. Nobody is tipping right now. She is a concierge, and her tips have gone from about 1800 every two weeks to, she is lucky to make 20 a day.

Did the person who told you this knew a guy which knew a guy that knew a guy who was a valet making crazy money?. Just think if it really paid that much then I'm sure half of the Americans would be Valets right now :P Only a few of the people actually do make those crazy money, while the rest get lousy tips. Remember that millionaires are greedy and they won't just throw you hundreds of dollars for parking their car (they rather gamble it away). They even hesitate to give you a few dollars. I've even seen quite a few job postings online for Valet positions in the major casinos, that means there are lots of empty spaces which means it doesn't pay magical amounts of money.

But everyone thinks that a Valet job is easy, but its actually very hard. Think of running on cement all day and constantly. It can take a toll on your knees and foot. To be a good Valet you gotta hustle and get those cars quickly or your going to get a lot of mad people that are not going to tip you. Otherwise, its still a good paying job for minimal skills.

According to a couple of Valets at the Palazzo, A good day is 110 to 150 dollars. A bad day is 60 dollars. Not that good at all.

How many guys do they have to split the pool from? My friend who works at the Airport Valet only has to split it with maybe 3 or 4 guys per shift.

Hopefully there is good money in it because parking other peoples cars for a living would get monotonous.
