Heard this the other day from a local who has been here for almost 20 years.

Why are people so against more people moving here? Yes, prices go up, but they are still well below the national average of big cities like New York and Los Angeles.

The traffic is still nothing compared to California, parts of Florida and New York as well.

Are you worried that Las Vegas will become like Los Angeles or New York City? I still don't see that happening, but that's just me.

Drawbridge mentality. Happened in Portland. Is starting to happen here.

How does increased immigration improve the quality of life for the current residents? I'm curious.

Why?
More traffic.
More liberal laws and bs.
More crowding.
Higher costs.

I've been telling everyone from out of town how awful vegas is.

I love living in Las Vegas and have been trying to convince some friends to relocate here.

My stepdad tried telling me how awful it was, he never lived there either. I wonder what the motivation was. He probably thought it was a seedy place.

I'm not sure people need to lie...both the healthcare and schools legitimately suck.

I was offered a great job there but declined it because all the apartments reviews on google mentioned crime (and I mean ALL the reviews, which I'd never seen before and I've lived in crime-happy Florida). I was looking in the 1k-1500k per month range in Henderson/Vegas. Now I wonder...

A lot of people bail after their first summer here. I wish more of them would.

Our crime rate has jumped dramatically over the last few years. It was a double whammy. Housing became very cheap during the recession. The banks were not lending, so cash investors swept in and turned all those houses into rentals. Section 8 is transferable from California.

Then California did proposition # whatever, and let a lot of people out of jail. Our crime rate jumped dramatically.

I can give you a good recommendation for an apartment group, but you will need to DM me. I am not fond of rent increases, and I understand the law of supply and demand.
