I don't buy the LVMPD statistics. I'm very active in the area and I hear it straight from the homeowners. I've seen more people who do not belong here and they are coming from the Bus depot over by the Golden Nights practice facility. I get up early in the morning and I see them camping out behind Costco (I usually get my gas here when they open in the morning) and that park that runs underneath Pavilion Center and Town Center. There use to be a Motorcycle cops that use radar guns and catch people speeding on Pavilion Center area and they been AWOL for a few years now. I'm not saying its unsafe, but there is an uptick of crime and most of it probably doesn't get reported.

1. Get a hard wired 24/7 live video feed monitoring camera system (donít want those Arlo WiFi camera types for the lag time and dealing with batteries)

2. My understanding is police in Henderson wont respond unless thereís visual confirmation of crime in progress (video, witness etc) - I have my ideas on Alarm systems base in this, but would appreciate you suggestions if any specific to providers in Henderson.

only last layer I wonít have is a big dog..

Many thanks
Sorry I did not PM you. I don't use third party installers or let anyone know my security plan details, so I don't have a recommendation for someone--there are many out there who can run wire for you. There are good systems you can install yourself or hire a speaker guy to run wire between your mounting points and DVR for a closed circuit system. I don't mean to sound paranoid, but I've had theft committed by people I let in my home for legitimate reasons. If you have maids, babysitters or unescorted workers in your home, be sure to include surveillance inside as well. Good luck.

Only after sufficient torture such that they beg to be killed.

It looks like Henderson has some pretty bad neighborhoods...

Perhaps I missed it - I didn't find any mention of what neighborhood this is in. Anyone know?

Original 12-27-2018 Nextdoor post says off Center / Burkholder. So that's near the 7/11 and section 8 housing.

A cop friend told me to post plenty of "this house guarded by security". Not homemade but if you can source some. He said burglars will usually avoid the house since so many don't have a sign, or system. Same with having a dog.

Thanks very much for all your responses and tips. I agree, itís the people that know your insides eg those you let in for service for example are the ones that likely come back to bite you later.

I will definitely have exterior and interior real time cameras. Greatly appreciated.
