I joined this forum to see if anyone has any more info on this. I was talking to my neighbor earlier today who is a Henderson cop. He said he and many other officers are applying to other departments because of the dysfunction in Henderson Pd and city government. He said officers feel the new chief is incompetent and nobody respects her. She has brought in all her friends to be in change who have no experience. I have seen story’s written about all of the investgation into her. Here is a link to one of the stories.

This is escpecially bad because we in Henderson are having a major increase in crime. This story talks about that:

In my subdivision, Sunridge at MacDonald Ranch, there has been a big spike in crime over the last two years and I wonder if issue with the police are part of the problem. My friend said that many officers are not working hard to spite the chief. He said most officers he know are just doing the bare minimum.

From what I understood from various news outlets is that the previous chief of police was maintaining a "good old boy" system and these guys that are dragging their feet and not doing their job may be a part of that culture.

And then there was the debacle of "commandeering" someone's house in Henderson that involved Henderson and NLV PD.

Take it all with a grain of salt. Henderson is routinely in the top ten for low crime of cities above 200,000.

It has less than half the homicides of North Las Vegas which is smaller. And half its homicides were domestic murder/suicides. Don't know how any Police Force prevents them.

Henderson pd is worthless. When my house was burglarized last year it took them 4 hours to show up. That was after calling 5 times. I never see them patrolling my neighborhood. They couldn’t care less.

Only cops I dislike are the motorcycles that give you tickets for any little mistake.

Las Vegas police have been pretty good for me, two calls and both times arrived in under 5 mins.

I have thankfully never needed to call the police, but I regularly see LVMPD patrolling the Summerlin community. Metro’s NW Area Command is also very active in our community events orchestrated by the Summerlin Council. I believe our police officers do an outstanding job and take great pride in keeping our community safe.

They are not all scum. I recently got pulled over for going 60 in a 45. I knew I was getting a ticket since I was doing 15 over. I was very polite and friendly to the officer. Everything was current, and he let me go without even a warning. I could not believe it. I am very critical of the police myself so I understand. They are not all bad as there are some good ones.

I have a buddy that is "on the job" at Henderson PD. He mentioned that the good'ole boy Mormon culture is alive and well in the command ranks (read into that any which way you want to). Wonder if that has anything to do with the issues?
