NRS 482.3961 requires that a vehicle owned by a nonresident business must have a separate "non-resident business permit" to operate the vehicle in Nevada. Cost is around $200 per vehicle, per year. Looks like they issue a sticker for the vehicle. I assume police would know about this and ticket a vehicle accordingly which did not have the permit.

Still sounds cheaper than registering a high dollar vehicle in NV.

I know a cardiologist who owns a Bentley registered in Montana. He's never set foot in the state.

I know a guy that registered his 1mm RSR Porsche and a pair of rare Ferraris in Montana and he was never there either. He said getting caught will be tough since he doesn't display the cars (Cars/Coffee events) and they probably won't cover 500 miles a year on the open roads.

The RV's were a target for a while but people with yachts/planes have the same issue. SC has no tax on boats ($300 fee) but if you stay in the state then you get hit with a use tax. For some reason MA has no tax on airplanes but if you register it there and then take it home to Florida, then FL hits you with a use tax. If you kept it out of FL for the first 6 months then you can't be charged. Worst part, airplanes have log books so even if you skirted the authorities they can always look at your logbooks to see where the plane has been.

RVs/Boats are less on the radar unless you have a highway cop working the state lines or some dock Nazi hitting the marinas on a holiday weekend. John Kerry got busted registering his 2mm sailboat in Delaware.
