I actually like Primm. The outlet mall has been in decline for years but I suspect that it will rebound once the Raiders start playing in Vegas because of the increased traffic. I sometimes go there on Saturday afternoon when it is crowded and play the slots for awhile. As another poster once mention, the Latino market segment likes it, especially when they have a Latino band playing at Buffalo Bills on Saturday night. Primm Valley Resort just opening up a new restaurant that is getting good reviews, going to try it before too long. I would say that the slots are looser than Vegas. I won $3700 there a few months ago on a Quick Hit machine and that has never happened to me in Vegas after a decade of trying.

Keep your expectations low and you wont be disappointed. The place is clean and tidy. The service is average. The steakhouse is disappointing. If your a golfer then there may be some value to you. If your looking for a simple weekend get away on the cheap. Harrahs and the Nugget in Laughlin are better.

I agree Laughlin is better than Primm. Perhaps what another poster said is true....SoCal casino improvements killed Primm?

Thanks for posting that article. He should go there on a Saturday when Buffalo Bill's parking lot is full.

The reason the Outlet Mall is not booming is because the Asian tour buses quit stopping there. Before, you would see 4 or 5 or 6 of them in the rear parking lot. Now, rare to see one. The food court and most of the stores depended upon those free-spending Asian tourists who would jam their empty suitcases with real bargains. Don't know when they are coming back. Sad.

This post has me doing a bit of reminiscing this morning. I worked down there for a minute at the Primadonna hotel, I lived in the employee trailers at Whiskey Petes, then moved to the new ones just north of where Buffalo Bills is now. This was probably in 1991. I met my husband there My favorite attractions were the cattle that would come in the evenings to eat the grass between the trailers and the Bonnie and Clyde death car at Whiskey Petes.

These two paragraphs from that article caught my attention:

Quote:
We’re in the midst of a well-documented decline in tourism here. Shows, restaurants, attractions and entire hotels have been shuttered, all due to the failure of today’s business model and a complete lack of sensible decision-making.
Quote:
I’ve only lived in this city since last October, yet in that time I’ve seen massive layoffs, skyrocketing rates and predictions of the impending collapse of our tourism industry. You might think that my small incident in an outlet mall has little to do with that, but does it really? Let’s see how well Downtown’s Fashion Outlet Mall fares a year from now since they’ve decided to gouge shoppers with parking fees.
Those are some pretty shocking admissions / observations.

Not supported by the data. Visitors, spend and room night continue to look good.

Just got the number 2 spot for summer vacations behind only Orlando

95 freeway packed in the morning rush hour.

Nothing so far indicating a problem
