Again with the whining? God forbid people see something wrong and bring up the issues in order to discuss it and make it better for all.

Yup. He sees things through a certain lens and loves to espouse it. He's not entirely without heart though when it comes to things close to it.

Inciting violence is the hugest pile of BS. People are responsible for their own actions.
If some dude gets up and starts telling me to beat up some guy I don't know for reasons I don't know, I am not going to beat up that dude.
That speaker can not incite me to violence because I am personally responsible for my actions.

And yes, private companies can absolutely dictate how to use their platform. I can also not use their platform. I can even start my own platform.
What I can't do is start my own country. So the country needs to respect the freedom of everyone equally. And the only way to do that is leave people the hell alone to do what they want up to the point they physically touch another person.

On the deplatforming thing, the problem with that is, it's a select group of people that disagree with the other group. It's not that they're violating rules. It's a rabid mob of leftists are violently demanding any contrary speech be shut down immediately or else.
I loathe and despise Alex Jones. I HATE that guy and everything he does. But I support his right to speak. He wasn't violating rules. He was violating the left's feelings. And these companies are run by leftists so they are happy to deplatform dissenters.
that's the kind of stuff I'm against.

You have people like Jordan Peterson and Dave Rubin being threatened and silenced. Dave Rubin is the biggest softy yesmen there is. That dude couldn't say anything even remotely controversial to save his life.
Peterson carefully chooses every single word he says. He's extremely careful to say things correctly and factually. The left shuts down all his speeches. They're doing their damndest to silence this dude all because he has the audacity to disagree with their feelings in favor of facts.

The one kid was dragged through the mud for smiling while someone else was shouting racist slurs at him. All because he had a red hat on.

It is crazy out there. And it's all because people are willing to give away their freedom of speech.
The law disagrees with you EA on shouting fire in a crowded theater and inciting violence. It's one of the first examples for what you can't do that we learned in college studying the first amendment. I have to strongly disagree with you that leftists are a violent rabid mob. That's just not true. Alex Jones was deranged and dangerous and incited violence regularly against the left on his show. Thus they did something about him, especially after the craziness with targeting Sandy hook parents. He deserved what he got.

From part of what I've seen you post online I suspect something and I want to recommend to you to watch The Great Hack documentary on Netflix.

That's when developments like Green Valley Ranch, Summerlin and Lake Las Vegas were taking off. That was the Greatest Generation entering their "golden years" and the first wave or early-retiree Baby Boomers. Additionally, many people followed their parents and grandparents to Las Vegas to find jobs, which also boosted the economy and sent it on a growing bonanza of sorts. People were pulling equity out of their homes to buy toys, get upgrades, get new boobs and tattoos, and buy "investment" properties, etc.

Then came 2007-2008 and the rude awakening we all got.

The Greatest Generation are, sadly, starting to die off. As are the oldest of the Boomers who partied a little too hard. A lot of them die and take their money with them, or it ends up somewhere in the "black hole" of Wall Street. The younger Boomers got the last of the good jobs with good benefits. The Gen Xr's don't have the amount of capital that the Boomers and Greatest Genr's had. The Millennials have even less.

Those with money, a lot of which is foreign, are moving to coastal California while those with less money are getting pushed inland. There was a recent article in the Washington Post about how Millennial Californians from the Bay Area are starting to move out to the Central Valley cities of Bakersfield and Fresno in droves, making those areas more cosmopolitan and liberal, and also more expensive and less-friendly to the lower class.

As foreign money keeps pouring in and prices keep going up in Southern California along the coast, working millennials are getting pushed https://lasvegassun.com/news/2019/ap...p-exacerbated/out to the Inland Empire, the Antelope Valley, the Coachella Valley (Indio) and places that were once lower-middle class. This "push" away from the coast toward the inland suburbs and exurbs is, in turn, pushing the poorer residents of the Inland Empire, the Antelope Valley and the Coachella Valley over into Nevada and Arizona where there are more homes and apartments being built.

Here is an interesting article about how the Southern Nevada Housing Authority was giving out Section 8 vouchers to people outside of Las Vegas for the past 10 years:

http://https://lasvegassun.com/news/...665.1564464688

And, why wouldn't they? It's job security for them!

You're seeing wealth increases in places like San Francisco, Santa Cruz, Santa Monica, Palo Alto, Laguna Beach because foreign money is coming in and buying small homes that once sold for $50-70k in 1975, and rehabbing them, and re-selling them, to the tune of $5 mil on today's market. That, in turn, drives up the taxes on neighboring properties and Millennials just can't afford that. Watch the movie, "House of Sand and Fog" starring Jennifer Connely if you want a clear idea of what's been going on the past 15 years in coastal California. The novel is even better but most people don't want to be bothered with reading a novel these days.
That problem has been known for years. And it is true in virtually all major cities. The only way viable to get Section 8 is to live in some undesirable location for a year and then move the voucher.

And the problem has little to do with local leadership. The real problem is that there are way too few Section 8 vouchers.

The link appears busted. Try this one.
https://lasvegassun.com/news/2019/ap...p-exacerbated/

The homes in CA have roughly tripled since 1995. The thing happening to the 1975 homes is they are getting torn down completely or to a single wall and then being rebuilt two or three times as large. The homes on my SIL block in Santa Monica are either under 1800SF or close to 4000SF.

The law is unconstitutional. The government is specifically and wholly barred from infringing on free speech.
ANY infringement for ANY reason is a violation of our rights.

If you don't think the left is rabid and violent you have not been paying any attention.
BLM and antifa are both terrorist organizations of the left. Berkley riots. Portland riots. Shutting down highways. I can go on and on and on listing off violent leftist actions.

It's ironic you can attack Alex Jones (again, I hate the guy) freely, but he can't attack people he wants? Because he doesn't agree with the left?

That's a double standard.

I mean look at all the leftists attacking Trump and wanting him dead. It's all over youtube. Why aren't they being silenced? They're doing the same thing Jones did. Attacking something they disagree with.

Privilege is being born into a set of circumstances that have personally benefitted you, while failing to acknowledge that other people may not have been as fortunate.

Privilege is having the red carpet rolled out for you from the time you're born and never having to worry what it's like to have to truly earn things on your own.

Privilege is having society set up to cater to you while accusing others of being "whiney" or "jealous" when they point out your benefits.

Want to know the best way to get rid of privilege? Start by acknowledging that it exists. Identify it, and mitigate its effects.

Non.... sense

Every single person has their own "privilege" making it not a privilege because EVERYONE has something.
Everyone has things they suck at.
Me for example. I do not speak effectively. I can't sell to save my life. I can't keep track of numbers well.
I can't draw or do anything artistic. My voice is absolutely awful.
But since I'm not a victim with a victim mentality, I don't look at what I can't do. I don't look at people who can do those things with contempt. We're ALL different. I can fix things. I can weld things. I can advertise really well. I can take amazing photos. I can critically think. I can drive exceptionally well.
It's not a privilege. It's human nature. We're all good at different things and we're bad at different things.

The only thing holding anyone back is their mentality.

Oh my god we’re getting a classic and hilarious “check your privilege” comment from a social justice warrior. My greatest fear in Las Vegas is encountering a Portland-style liberal social justice warrior. It makes me shudder with fear. Retreat to your safe space, snowflake, I know there are going to be some “microagressions” here

Not being from a “privileged” background doesn’t excuse you from personal responsibility any more than I’m excused from being judged for what I’ve accomplished or done independent of any “privilege.” Not to mention you can’t throw around how lucky other people are without understanding everyone faces their own challenges. Most people I know still have their parents alive, whereas my mom died when I was 23 of cancer. We all face our own battles and difficulties, and I’m sympathetic to someone without as many opportunities and certainly don’t expect they should just wake up and become Bill Gates. I only expect that they should do their personal best, try to better their lives, and not mooch off the system. That’s it. I don’t care what they do beyond that. If they’re paying their own bills and always trying to improve their lives, they’re winners to me.

When someone talks about X dollars per hour “not being enough,” and then doesn’t follow it up with “so I’m trying to find a way to better myself to earn more,” but instead retreats to “the system isn’t fair and I deserve more!” I know I’m dealing with a whiny loser. Nobody deserves more unless the free market PAYS you more!!! Period. No argument. It’s simple fact. If I can find a TV on Amazon for $600 and Wal-Mart has it for $800, they have no business telling me “it’s worth more” because apparently it isn’t since the free market has decided $600 is the new going rate. It works both ways for companies, sometimes they win, somethings they lose, but what you personally want or need for a wage is 100% completely irrelevant to the economy and the market forces.

Hey JLB!

All this time I thought you were another liberal/snowflake from Portland, eager to bring your radical socialist Portland garbage with you to LV.

I am quite pleased to admit I WAS WRONG!

OK. Back to the debate. May need more popcorn for this one....

An average is a mathematical calculation found by taking the sum of a data set and dividing it by the number of instances in the data set.

The link I provided was from Twitter. Why are you so obsessed with 4Chan?
