According to a former coworker who put in some time working for the wonderful Siegel Suites folks they would have a dozen cars with people sleeping in them at times, people who couldn't come up with rent for the next week. Since most would get cash in a few days they usually just let them be so they kept their loyalty when they had cash.

Talk about life on the margins...

I recommend trying to stay in a homeless shelter at the very least as a last resort before living in a car. It’ll still be 100+ degrees through out September.

I love camping as much as the next guy, but this entire scenario sounds like a recipe for massive failure.

What kind of car do you have, and what do you consider a "suitable place"?

Of course it is possible, but it is not sensible. Wait until the weather is mild. While you are waiting on the weather to shift to cooler temps, maybe your situation will improve or you will change your mind. Whatever situation you are leaving, it must be terrible--because living in a car during 100-110 temps doesn't seem like a step up from much.

If it's 110 degrees outside, it's 150 degrees inside your car. You might want to rethink this.

Luckily it doesn't get to 110 in September and I'm guessing he won't be trying to get his sleep in during the hottest part of the day
