The cans with a light blue lid are for recycling. Republic will give you a can for normal trash if you ask. You can put large items out by the curb on bulk pickup days, every 2 weeks. Don't put out any trash outside the can if animals are likely to get into it and scatter it throughout the neighborhood.

Yeah if it’s not convenient nobody bothers. I never once took a can to a place for my deposit back in Oregon. It wasn’t close and I didn’t care enough. Right into the recycling bin they went along with everything else. Can deposits are totally idiotic.
