It's back. Still considering Roku, Sling and a recorder. One hell of a lot less money per month.

It's not a bad idea, but you should also think ahead to what's going to happen in 2020 when every single media company is going to have their own streaming service. It was good while it lasted, when Netflix and Amazon Prime (which I have a feeling a lot of people have anyway) got you most of what you needed, but as things get more fragmented it's likely to get more expensive overall.

Hopefully all this streaming will lead to true Ala carte.

That would be excellent. I wonder how they plan on screwing that up so they make more money.

God forbid that I stop subsidizing channels that no one watches.

Found out today that Dish dropped Fox5. There was a game I wanted to watch and had to hook up a flat antenna and get it OTA. Came in just fine. It bugs me though that this even happens. With FOX carrying the NFL it looks like I might be doing this a lot.

For some games I go online for the stream and patch it through my laptop into the TV. It can be a PITA but it does work if there's an out of market game I really want to see.
