If you got big mountains, you got big wind..Vegas is surrounded by big mountains...I thought Chi-Raq was about the windy politicians, but there would have to be some big wind off the lake.

Las Vegas is not nearly as windy as living in Minnesota. Overstated and overrated "fact" about living here.

Well, it also depends on where you are. Wind speed is usually measured from a centralized location, but there are absolutely wind tunnels in the area where it's much worse in particular locations. You won't notice it as much in an open field as you would in, say, the Aria driveway (which at times is like standing inside a hairdryer). The same thing happens in NYC due to the narrow streets with tall buildings.

Not enough wind, and then comes the smog.

And no, Chicago isn't much windier than Las Vegas. Chicago only got dubbed Windy City because of the journalists coming to visit Chicago and the people there couldn't brag enough about what a great city it was. That kind of "wind".

Boston, on the list, was a big surprise, didn't realize Boston was so windy! Lowest average annual windspeeds are in Medford, OR @4.5MPH.

Here, in Tucson, we don't get near the wind that Las Vegas gets. Loving every minute of it.

Anyone that downplays the wind factor in Las Vegas, is probably a RE agent trying to lure people to move there.

A list of cities by average windspeed? So what? Boston is the windiest city by that criteria and no city in Florida even makes the top ten. Do you really think that Boston is the city greatest at risk from wind? Here is a hint https://www.cnn.com/us/live-news/hur...019/index.html
