Aliante was Absolutely Beautiful Pink! Just gotta get used to the little tornado i saw there today that kicked up the dust haha.
Made and offer on 2 homes there.Just my opinion,Aliante and the NW compares to Summerlin and SW! And it wasnt that far at all..took me 15 minutes doing speed limit from Ann rd to the strip with no traffic on the 95. Although rush hour might be a different story but im ok with it

NW 89131 Was Great and i loved the mountains there... we made an offer on 2 houses close to shadow ridge high school (there was only a few homes within our budget)

89031 although not aliante or NW i found it nice and not that bad at all(well atleast the part that had the house i liked).
There was actually one home in the 89031 that i liked the most, the house just matched what me and my family wanted so we made an offer also. The school zoned for 89031 for my son is not to my liking,so we are making other arrangements for him to go to another school.

I still made an offer on a house in the SW, But for some strange reason SW became my last choice now.
(i think it was the "bang for the buck" theory haha)

I came into the North expecting it to be really bad like what other people have said here on the forums but geesh that wasnt the case at all!
Yes i understand there are some bad parts in the north but those people that keep hating on the entire north should really wake up and see the newer north side!

Just wanted to say Thanks to all the people who gave their advice and helped with my questions! Hope to meet you guys and gals one day!
You skipped right over 89143. next to 89131. Arbor View HS and same good views!

next year or after we are putting our house in the NW on the market. Built 2003, 1 story, 4 bedroom, .18 acre with a custom pool already in and solar to boot. I love the house, but we built a new house in Henderson for family reasons and are just holding the NW one for a while since we can afford it to watch prices.

So barring your family reasons, what are your pros and cons of those two areas? Of course, I understand it is your opinion. Just interesting to hear from someone who has lived in both areas.

BTW, what is the zip of the NW one?

Default Help finding small High School

Hey, I would like to move to Las Vegas but I need to convince my children. We live in a small town in North West Colorado and my children are a little uneasy going to a big city. They go to a small High School 125 in graduating class it's a charter school. Boy a Junior a daughter freshman and a deaf child boy who will be in 6th. If I can find a good high school that is not real large I might be able to convince them. I'm a dental asst. with about 25 years of experience does anyone know how much they make in Las Vegas? Housing seems to be the easy part any advice would be greatly appreciated

Great post. I thought the same when I was out there looking awhile back. I'm sold on the extreme North and Northwest. As long as my daughter doesn't have to go to Mojave High School!! Now, not a slam there, just not want I am looking for. We looked at Astoria, Richmond American, Ryland, Pulte, etc... Great homes, good prices that are better now (although not by much). My cutoff had been Ann Road but actually prefer the places around the 215 and even further north then that.
Nice to see a positive post ... and good luck with getting that offer accepted. I'm a little envious as I can't wait to get there as well.

Default North Las Vegas Areas and Schools

Hi -- I've enjoyed reading your posts. I'll be working in NLV in August and am bringing my family. What are your thoughts on this, and what do you know about the schools? I have a middle school age child, so this is an important factor. Also, what can you tell me about Mojave & Cheyenne H.S. -- do you have a link for rating these?
Thanks for any input!
