The time has finally arrived!! I will be in Vegas next week (7 days)for operation find a job and a place.

I have been on all of the usual job websites. I even sent out a few resumes. I plan to go to JobConnect as someone already suggested. I've also been on websites looking for a condo/townhouse. I noticed in another thread someone suggested being "zoned" for certain school districts. How exactly does one do that?? My child will be entering the 5th grade, so I would like her to attend a good school.

I'm open to other suggestions that will help me use my time there wisely.
I need some advice from those who recently moved or seasoned residents. What suggestions do you have for a soon to be Vegas resident??

P.S. No need to tell me to stay away from the slots. I don't gamble!!

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!!!

Drop me a DM with a price range, pets and any other requirements and I will send you the condo listings that might work.

To find out what school a property is zoned for, this site is good....

Clark County School District - Zoning Information (http://www.ccsd.net/schools/zoning/zoning.php - broken link)

Type in the address of the potential property, and the site will tell you the mandated school at each level.

Typically, a rule of thumb is that areas zoned for good high schools will also be zoned for solid elementary and middle schools. Picking an area by high school (IMO) is probably the best way to ensure that your child will have a good education across the board.

Also - if you want to take the reverse approach, here are the maps, so you know which areas to look at....

http://www.ccsd.net/schools/zoning/maps/hsNorth.pdf (broken link)
http://www.ccsd.net/schools/zoning/maps/hsSouth.pdf (broken link)

I'd recommend Centennial, Palo Verde, and Coronado.
Green Valley wouldn't be bad either. Maybe Spring Valley.
