But they did just raise the rates this year, so I think that had a lot to do with it.
so it had to do on how the smaller house was facing the sun?

That's what I think, but also it had a smaller AC unit on it. But the back of the house where the kitchen, living room, and master bedroom faced, was very hot!

So My First Nevada Power Bill was for 21 days May 15 - June 5 and it was $79.46 - a $15.00 connection charge. So my energy cost was $63.71 In thoes 21 days I did not really have the AC on. So the Next bill is what I am Really interested in seeing.....

Here we go - 28 days. I would say that every day the AC was on. 2nd story 1100 sq ft apartment. I have 3 computers running all the time, in the second bedroom with the door closed and the window open and an exhaust fan . AC is usually at 79 degrees and it seems like it is ALWAYS running.

Drum Roll....

$129.47
or $4.62 a day

Last month, with Less AC it was ...
$3.03 a day.

So, its a $1.59 more a day more expensive.

More than I like, but not nearly as bad as I feared.

It's central air. 1 month and 1 week since signing the lease and I checked the a/c filter...... thick as can be!

Got to keep those filters clean! But my guess is that the previous tenant didn't change it out since they were moving.

Cox sure does get you with those installation fees. Ouch. At least I know the bill will be less than the Comcast bill here for similar service once this first month is done... X[

With all due respect, this is extremely random as noone made any mention of Walmart in this thread. Bumping month old threads with random thoughts on Walmart while pimping your Ebay store and asking for folks to invest in your RE business is not necessarily the right way to do things around here. It's coming off very spammy. I truly mean no disrespect but this forum is intended to share information and discuss issues that are important to the folks of the Vegas Valley and those that have an interest in the Southern Nevada area, not a fancy Craigslist board. If you truly came with the intention to contribute something other than your solicitations then welcome. If not then save your breath please. And please stop with the all caps typing.

So I finally got out first bill:

From Aug 8th to Sept 8th our total was $160
Not as bad as I was fearing.

2nd floor, 1140 sq ft. Facing West:

1 ceiling fan and 1 floor fan running the entire month, 2 computers also on the whole time, Used the washer and dryer maybe 6 times (And I have to run the dryer twice for each load) , Oven maybe 10 times for short periods, Air was on (Auto) during the day from 11am to midnight. Never used the dishwasher.

Totally do-able, especially after we've been here a year and go on the budget plan, where they average out the winter months with the summer months. Thank Goodness
