The $500 was a birthday with a 0 in it.

We find we often get to $50 or so at the neighborhood places. Dropped $170 last night for a party of three at Grape Street...though that was driven by the excessive consumption of good wine in good company.

YIKES !!!

Sounds like you are reaping the wealth from the good ol days in Real Estate. You may want to be a little more carefull not knowing when things will get better.

Dont listen to me though. Just invite me.

$500 for a dinner of 2? I bet sitting next to you was some of Hollywoods finest and wealthest.

Really? You're talking about drinks with liquor in them, right? And restaurants that are actually in Las Vegas. Sit down restaurants.

Well, we've never seen any whenever we've gone. But then I'll usually only order one drink and my fiance doesn't drink so we don't usually get quite to the 200 mark; it often goes over that with the tip, but I don't know if we're counting that.

Nope. Actually we were a little disappointed in our one >$500 dinner here in Las Vegas. My fiance wanted to take me out to dinner on my birthday. We're Hung fans (3rd season Top Chef) so he thought to take me to Guy Savoy where Hung supposedly still worked. We loved the sea bass; the other stuff was just pretty good, but not much better than other dinners that were half the price (we found the thimble-sized cup of carrot soup to be ridiculous; it was still good though). And then we found out that Hung just quit not too long before that, so that was kind of disappointing. To us that is. I'm sure it was great for him!

Our $500 meal was superb...though it was actually surpassed by a $350 meal at Michails. When ever you want to eat in the old style...Michaiels.

The only thing we did wrong that night was to order too much food. We really ran out of room before we ran out of food. We had only a single bottle of very good wine. She had a lobster and I a filet. Cannot be done any better. Serivce is the reality...they never left anything on the table that was finished and never pick up anything that was not. They were always there when you wanted something and gone when you wanted to be alone.

Ahh yes. Saving my pennies. Soon again a birthday with a zero and back to Michaels.
