Could any of you suggest any auto insurance companies that have fairly competitive rates other than the usual state farm's, geico, progressive etc. I do already understand the way insurance companies factor in certain variables for quotes i.e. age, sex, rent vs. own, etc but was wondering if there are any local companies that are substantially lower in price. Im looking for a full coverage policy.

Here in NJ there is a company called NJ cure, that only insures nj state drivers. Their premiums usually average about half of what the major carriers charge. Was wondering if Nevada had such a thing?

I'm also in NJ, but use NJ Manufacturer's. I'll probably switch to USAA when I move to Vegas.

I use Country Insurance for all of my needs, from all 3 cars to my homeowners policies. I also refer my clients to my Country agent for their homowners insurance needs. Their rates are very competitive (was previously with Allstate and Country undercut them by quite a bit) and their coverage is a bit better as well.

We use Unitrin Direct here in FL and they saved us a bunch of $$. Had an accident was not our fault and they took care of everything. They do have coverage in LV (thank goodness we won't have to switch companies when we move) They say that they save you more because they don't advertise anywhere, it's word of mouth advertising. Check them out Unitrin Direct Auto Insurance

Well at least you wont be in shock when you hear how much it cost here coming from NJ the highest insurance state. It aint cheap but it is better then NJ.

Why not the usual Geico or those others you mentioned? They seem to be the old standby.

After much checking I found Geico to have the best rate. However they were the most expensive for RVs. So some more hunting and I found Progressive to be the cheapest RV insurance. Even cheaper then Good Sam.

They are all criminals. You just have to find the least criminal one.

Do the local agencies you mentioned also offer renters insurance?

NJ Cure is only cheaper than the big companies if you're in a high-risk pool (like young drivers, etc) that will get you raped by the other companies. If you've got a good driving record and you're over 25, I'd look into Allstate- they've got great rates, and we used them in NV, NJ, and now GA.

They do not usually. Even adding renters insurance my premium was still pretty darn high. I lived in Chicago and my premium there was 1/4 of what the major companies in NJ are asking. Geico believe it or not came in high as well.
