Hi All,

So for the past 2 years I have been contemplating moving from Boston to Las Vegas. It has always been something I have wanted to do..to live there for many reasons. I have started to apply for jobs out there and have had a few phone interviews which I am very excited and hopeful about.

Regardless I think I will be moving out there...safety is obviously a huge factor for me and I have already started looking for apts...I have been looking at the Camden Canyon apts..if anyone could give any insight to this complex and others, it would be greatly appreciated!

Smiles and Happy 4th!!

For the safest areas, look in Summerlin, the far northwest (Centennial Hills), Henderson, and parts of the southwest corner.

I was in Boston for the first time last March and I loved it, but I think you'll find Vegas to be safer than Boston. It is spread out about 10X the size of Boston and we don't have that great public transportation that you have, but most of it is safe. I don't know where those particular apartments are, but what radraja said is true about Summerlin being the best, plus Henderson, the northwest, and the southwest. How about bringing me some of that great lobster bisque from Faneuil Hall and a Boston Cream Pie from Mikes Pastry when you come?

That makes me feel a little better..you saying that Vegas is safer than Boston. I have seen a lot of stuff living in the city and that puts me at ease! The one thing I will miss about Boston is the chowdaaaa..hopefully I can find some good seafood restaurants out there!

remember that this is the desert.....seafood has to walk a LONG ways to get here......all you can hope for is that your tastebuds numb a little so you THINK there's a good seafood restaurant.....

Amen, brother. You can find reasonably good seafood in California, but nothing like what you're used to out east.

There are some good seafood places in Vegas. You just have to look for them.

I have a feeling its going to take a little while getting used to Vegas, but I am up for a challenge. I have been reading on these posts that most people that live in Vegas arent fro there, for the most part is that true? Also I am used to doing so much out here and always can find something to do..besides touristy things, what else could you recommend for a newcomer coming to Vegas?

Yeah. Most people who live in Vegas are natively from somewhere else. A lot of the city is brand new, after all. Lots of people from CA, and plenty from the east coast and midwest.

Since everyone is from somewhere else, it'll be easy to find people to relate to.

Can you tell us some? And are you familiar with the seafood restaurants in Boston and places like that to compare them?
