Yeah Allan Grant. I remember I saw and met Herb Ellis. I also saw Emily Remler and Larry Coryell. She was great.

The Blue Note was nice but I knew it wouldn't last.

To big and to expensive.

It was beautiful, but it seems a much larger metro population is needed for a top-notch full time jazz club. Either that, or an area that provides lots of high paying work to great players, that will play for "free" on their off-time. LV is neither.

Default Jazz in las vegas

The last real jazz club seen by Las Vegas was the "Just Jazz'" which opened in July of 2007 and lasted until about May or June of 2008.
The Club called "Calix Jazz Supper Club" is a jazz club in name only
I have frequented jazz clubs world wide over the last forty years so
I think I qualify to know what is jazz and what is not. Calix features
popular African American music but not "Jazz" as Louis Armstrong, Lester
Young, Charlie Parker, Stan Getz, Mile Davis, Theloneous Monk, Woody Herman, Gene Ammons, Dizzy Gallespie, Winston Marsellis or any of the
other greats or up and comming jazz musicians would classify as "Jazz". Lets face it jazz does not existin Las Vegas. Sorry!
