For free or mostly...Well good old red rock canyon has more trail than a cat has whiskers. Some are challenging all day affairs. Others are twenty minutes in and out. One has a pretty neat waterfall that turns the box canyon it is in to an icey fantasy this time of year. Just go to the entrance area and buy a good book. Took to them. they know where what is.

You can rent horses across the street from Red Rock but it is not cheap.

Bonnie Springs past Red Rock can be fun. Primitive zoo. Shoot em up shows on the weekend.

The Test Site Museum. Testimony that you can make a museum for almost any purpose.

Ceasars Palace. All kids like the shopping area. Stupid animontronics goes over big.

Gondolas at the Venetian.

Good roller coaster at NYNY. A world class one down in Primm. 45 minute drive.

Top of the stratosphere. Good rides. Cost.

Take them out and walk up the back of Lone Mountain. 45 minutes each way. Really nice for 14 year olds as it appears to be illegal. Maybe...but no one really knows.

Default may I recommend...

Free Things to Do in Las Vegas - National Geographic Traveler

Free things to do in Las Vegas (it is several pages, just click on the sidebar to the section you want).

Also (if it wasn't mentioned), Mt. Charleston, Red Rock Canyon, Spring Mtn. Ranch... There is also, as olecapt mentioned, plenty of shows and entertainment to do at the strip hotels for next to nothing, even museums (if you're into that).

Default Stuff for kids in LV

Thank you for the tips ! The roller coaster in Primm Valley sounds pretty awesome. Does anybody know where to get discount coupons for that ride !? Are there other rides there...more stuff for kids if we make the 45 minute drive ?
