Is there a liquor store near the airport? I was going to buy a bottle at the hotel I am staying at but it is ridiculous $$. So I was thinking I could ask my taxi to stop at a local liquor store to pick some up.

If you pay the cab to wait won't it actually end up costing you more anyway? Also, I'm sure you realize that you can't take liquids on the plane, and stuffed in your checked luggage the luggage handlers are sure to break or steal it. Don't they have liquor where you're from?

After cab fare, it is just cheaper to buy it at an inflated price in the hotel. Besides, I have found that the hotels don't charge THAT much more. The previous post is right too, if the cabbie has to wait, it is gonna cost you more. Just save your money, buy at the hotel, and put the rest in a machine. Help us out a little.

I realize about the taxi cab having to wait but $ 50 for a fifth of rum is a bit much and $ 4 a coke? I figured if There was a store near the hotel or airport I could jump in and out and it should not take that long. Yes Buzz there are one or two liquor stores here in Miami but didnt you just tell me I cant stuff my luggage with liquids?

There's a mini-Mart on Flamingo just east of the Strip that will have inflated prices, but nothing compared to your hotel gift shop. It's on the corner of Audrie and Flamingo across the street from Bally's. I think there's another liquor store on the strip near Desert Inn. The closest grocery store would be the Von's at Twain and Maryland Parkway, which would carry a decent selection of Rum and the prices will be a little bit better. You could also bring a bottle with you on the flight...

Have the cab driver take Paradise to Flamingo----stop at the liquor store at Flamingo and Audrie, next to Battista's Hole in the Wall, should take no more than 5 minutes---$3-4 maximum waiting time, the whole trip will be under $20.

Another option is the Smith's Grocery at

1515 E Tropicana Ave # 350
Las Vegas, NV 89119

They have reasonably priced liquor.

Best in Vegas is Lee's but they have no central location.

There's no Smith's on E. Tropicana. There's a Von's near there though.

Smith's nearest to the Bellagio is at Sahara/Maryland or Trop/Jones
