Can somebody give me some advices, so i can have more info about...
I live in Ocala, FL and am moving out to NV in 28 days will arrive in LV in aprox 32 days. My best advice is VISIT AT LEAST ONCE FIRST and in the summer is better. The heat is completley different than we have here and while it would seem that LV vs Orlando wouldn't be much different, it is. If and when you do visit be sure to GET OFF THE STRIP as that really is not an accurate view of LV as far as living there is concerned. It took my hubs 2 years and 2 visits to get me as excited as he is about this move. It is not cheap to get all of your belongings across the country, we are starting over. Uhall trailer hitch $250 the smallest trailer they offer $350 plus the extra gas for having to pull the extra weight. Make sure you have enough money to keep yourselves in a home and food for at least 3-6 months just in case work isn't as easy to come by as you may think. Take the first job offer that comes by, the dream job may take a while to come by. But most of all, if this is what you really want to do, DON'T LET ANYONE CHANGE YOUR MIND FOR YOU! You will hear both positive and negative remarks about a move like this, take them with a grain of salt, no one knows if this will be right for you but you and you may not know yourself until well after you arrive in LV. GOOD LUCK!
thanks good luck to you too.....

Extremely well said, I'm so glad you are very realistic towards your cross country re-lo massagemamma!
Too often, folks move to Las Vegas with very UN realistic expectations and become disappointed when they realize that they didn't plan well at all.
I give ya a reppie thingy for that post love!

My boyfriend and I are planning to move to Vegas next year. We're thinking May. Right now we're saving all the money we can to move and to have enough when we get there. My boyfriend will be transfering within the company he works for. I'll be looking for a job. I was thinking of sending my resume to some of the job agencies to see what they have available.
Our plan...we're looking at apartments now (online, guides). When I go out later this year I will drive thru the ones we like to see the area and that the complexes look like. Narrow it down to the nice ones. Then early next year we'll come out, make appts to see some apartments and check things out. Narrow it down to the top few. Then move in May.
We cannot wait to move!! We have both wanted to do this for a while now.

From a been there done that...no one will even look at your resume until you have a local addy and phone number. I've tried! I can't even get replies to direct emails and they won't return calls to non local numbers. We are getting a PO Box about 2 weeks before the move and a local cell number so I can start the job hunt before hand. I'm lucky enough to have family in town whose physical addy I can use along with the PO Box. Give it a try though, you may have more exp than me and may have a better chance, all you're wasting is time. Good Luck!

Thanks for the insight. I thought about talking to agencies and seeing what they can do/will do. It wouldn't hurt to try to send them out anyway. I do have some family that lives in the area.
Looking at apartments is crazy!! LOL There are so many. And so many bad areas and good areas. That's why I'm glad I'm going in November to drive by some and check out the area. Then go from there.
Anyone have any suggestions on areas/places to live?? We're looking at apartments but would go for a condo/house too if the price is right.

I just got my Las Vegas phone number today, used a prepaid cell phone that was given to me. YEAH!! I am so excited. Called around today and there are several companies you can use to gain a LV address without using a PO Box which can be too obvious. The UPS store has boxes with a street address as well as Postnet and Mailboxes Ect. which I think just merged with UPS. Like I said previously I have tried calling and emailing several agencies and they haven't even bothered to return my calls so I feel like I have wasted my time. However we will have a street address by next week and starting Aug 1 I think I will have better luck setting up some interviews for when we arrive Aug 18th. Again Good Luck To You!

If you have any bit of weakness or addictive personality or if your kids' do youre family will surely be messed up .. I can garantee it I was born and raised here and it is evil ... My whole life is messed up and this is definitely not a family oriented town at all.... They don't call it sin city for nothing... Besides jobs and businesses are not doing well here at all..
