Not as shiny (or pretensious) as Summerlin, Green Valley or the South but very livable and convenient. |

silverado ranch is a great location, conveniently, has much more shopping than green valley...many companies open their first location in Silverado Ranch, or their newest concept...The first Fresh/Easy and Dunkin Donuts and Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market opened in Silverado Ranch, as did the first Target Greatland and the first Target in town with a Starbucks is nearby to Silverado Ranch, as with the first Dunkin Donuts in town to bake in-house...and the new Borders concept has also opened nearby...
I live in 89123, and its a very nice area, its nice to be so close to the Strip and so much... |

I lived in the Huntington sub-division in Silverado Ranch from 1998 - 2003. It seemed to build-up almost overnight.
I cannot speak for the schools, since we left while my son was still young. But I will say that it's a great area to get to almost anywhere in the Valley. Close to the airport & the Strip, and heading towards downtown on 15 was sort of like a reverse commute since it seemed most of the traffic in the morning was coming in from the north. Granted, traffic has increased a lot. But then again, so has the population. There's also a lot of great shopping and restaurants available on Eastern Avenue, south of St. Rose. Hope you like the area! |

I think the NW part of 89123 is the best, closest to the Warm Springs or Windmill exits of the 215. The Eastern exit has the most commercial stuff going on, but I find this area to be too congested. Once you get past St. Rose, the convenience factor is all but gone. Along with Spring Valley and The Lakes, I think Silverado Ranch is the most convenient of the safer/newer parts of the valley.

Thanks for the replies. We were planning on this house being a Vacation home. So it's going to be alone alot. We thought the 89123 area is convient and close to the strip if we wanted to go. We are having a tought time finding something with a pool and ready to go. We saw 10 houses about 2 weeks ago and really didn't see anything we had to have. Hopefully on our next trip we find something.

I just had an offer accepted on a house in that zip code. It goes into escrow on monday. I like the area, indeed it has a much different feel than Summerlin or Green Valley. It is still a pretty clean part of town to live in. I looked at a lot of houses in that area. You get a little more bang for the buck there than you do in green valley. Or at least it seems.
