T-1 day....
Well, I am now down to one day left. My stomach is in knots! I am so nervous about the move. I have an appt at the high school on Monday. I just can't believe I am doing this.
We leave tomorrow night-flying in. The great news is that the movers already dropped the stuff off at the apt. I was so happy about that, they gave a time frame btn the 14th and the 22nd so it was a bonus that it got there a day early. Hubby is loving having something to lay on besides the futon! Plus, they overestimated my load and it was $1000. cheaper than they estimated!!! Big bonus!!
Well, the next new thread I make will be from Henderson, NV!!!!
Vegas, ready or not, here I come!!

Well, I don't have a job, but my husband does-he has been working there since the beginning of July. I will be eventually looking for something part time. I really am not worried about that part because I don't have to rake in the millions. Just something to help a little and keep me from being bored. I need to be around for my daughter though, especially until she meets people-(maybe even more then!!)
Thanks for the welcomes!!

Welcome Kimba. I am new here too but we relocated because DH is military so I did not have a choice and quite frankly have never enjoyed Vegas in the past. No offense to anyone but my experiences have been only on the strip for a weekend. I have to say that I really am enjoying it here so far. The only thing bothering me right now is the heat. My DH and I are both from Michigan also and I could really use some cooler weather so if you don't mind packing a bit with you I'll come pick it up.
My family is on their way up to Gulliver (near Manistique) for a week on Lake Michigan but we can't make it this year. Oh for the smell of pine trees and cool lake breezes...sorry its just that I'm melting right now!
Anyway I digress. Welcome!

If you want cool(er) air, and the smell of trees, go up to Mt. Charleston. It's only an hour's drive. For lakes, go to Lake Las Vegas. They have free jazz concerts there on Saturday nights during the summer.

Welcome to LV Kimba! I'm sure you will like it as much as we all do. And someday we will all meet at a local get-together. Which would also be a really good way for transplanted kids and teens to make some new friends, with a once a month family potluck picnic.
