New Plans for Huntridge Theatre Unveiled
Eli Mizrachi, owner of the historic Huntridge Theatre near downtown Las Vegas has backed off his original plan to demolish the building. These new plans to make the old theatre the center of a new office and retail complex look pretty nice to me.

I'm so glad they aren't going to tear down the Huntridge, it is a well loved building with allot of history.
We tear down too many of our old buildings. It's nice to see such a nice plan to remodel the space and still keep the building intact. I know quite a few people who are very happy to see this building stay!

I just hope the roof doesn't cave in again. If it hadn't been for a change of plans for a concert a few hours before it happened, it may have killed a few hundred people. They refer to the old furniture store as part of the building. I wonder if they know that was actually a bank first, then something else, before the furniture store took over, and it seems to me the two weren't connected at first. I'm not sure that the old Post Office was always a P.O. either.

I don't remember the movies I saw at the Huntridge, but they were way before The Shining. I don't remember seeing anything there past the 1960's. I miss the Red Rock Theaters too. They were sort of funky. I also miss the Cinedome from when it was a Cinerama theater. They ruined it when they made it a multiple screen. I think the first movie I saw there might have been Dr. Zhivago.

This is one of the theaters in my home town. The one I worked in as an usher in high school was like this only it's gone now. They don't build them like this anymore.
