I am also with ByebyeVegas. Sooo many people have moved here with the wrong ideas and expectations of this ever growing town. Though I'm with ByeByeVegas, I am a huge cynic of this town. It has now become so flooded with people that our cost of living is sky-rocketing and the the locals (like myself... born and raised here) are looking to move away. Once the party dies down, and you've seen every casino and mountain you can in this valley, there's not much else for you to do here. It's becoming an increasing bad place to raise kids. So if you are a gambling loving, self rightoues, alcoholic YOU WILL LOVE THIS PLACE. Otherwise, make sure to take the time, consideration, and research before moving here.

Speaking for myself only, I don't have any grandiose ideas about Vegas, I don"t plan on winning any jackpots etc.. but I am hoping that the cost of living is lower than here in CA. My girlfriend and I are hairstylists and barely making it here, while I'm sure we won't get rich living in Vegas I do hope that we can have a better quality of life there.

I am none of those things you mentioned...yet I still love it here after almost 30 years.

I have the same life here I would have no matter where I am. Being in Las Vegas doesn't affect my way of living. I easily afford living here and am able to do so.

I do find that there are more things to do and things are more convenient...entertainment/dining/groups to belong to/events/charitable organizations to be involved with...

Life is what you make of it...whether it be here in Las Vegas or anywhere else for that matter.

Silliness. It is a good sized SW city. What is it that you think you find elsewhere but not here?

It has all the normal stuff a city does...and better than many.

I would agree it is a bad place if you have a compulsive personality and have problems with booze or gambling. Then again that is likely true of any large city.

While gambling may be more accessible in Vegas, it's true that no matter where you live if you're looking for trouble it's easy to find. There's plenty of trouble to be had everywhere.

So now that I'm 1300 miles closer and not getting along with the Texas terrain; I was thinking about Vegas. Vegas seems like a small city but ALOT going on. I tell everyone here that the driving distances in Texas are too far; seems like everytime I leave the house I put 100 miles on my trip meter. But there's also 100 other reasons why I thought about moving; which I wont go into b/c I want to know all about Vegas...

So the question is; do you think someone from Miami would like Vegas? Or is there any big drawbacks that would make me want to re-consider?
To urbane aspects, we are more alike than different we two have been thinking about {not thing we are moving to las vegas end of july} I read a lot of stuff good and bad @ the end of the day I think it is going to be up to use to make it work, You Can Do It. j&j
