As I am reading these replies, some of you do not comprehend just how long it takes to get a place through housing authority and section 8...the wait is over a year ! To add to the dismal situation even after applying, a low income person on ssi/ssdi can expect caseworkers to have heavy caseloads --- it`s really a ridiculous system ...which means possibility having to go through the shelter system or being homeless...at least until the papers fall through. I just want to know where there is cheap rent like around 400 or so....efficiency....Las Vegas.

All of the systems in this country that deal with helping people are RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!!

Have you tried some of the mobile home parks? Some are for ppl over 55 and they have small park models. Don't know where these are located tho.
