Well if you can get to Nellis in 2 minutes or less it may work. That is what? 5% of Henderson? I would also observe that is a one Blvd route with few alternates. It breaks you going to go to 45 minutes.
If you are back in the valley or up anthem 45 minutes is on a good day.
To get out of Nellis to the north and west you have to use Range. I was under the impression from area locals that works OK. You disagree? If you need to use the main gate I agree it is going to be a mess until the work is done...then it will be very nice.

Range Road is a mess. I am told that the light at Range Road and 215 is a minimum 15 minute wait to turn left at 430-5pm.
My coworker said some people drive up towards speedway and then get on I-15 to 215 but that add a lot of time and distance.
FWIW, I'd say to run from Russell and to the base on Nellis is 20 minutes max, so if you can get there within 10 minutes (and not 2) you can be to the base quickly. Also, if you can get to Russell and BH within about 7-8 minutes you are within 30 minutes of the base.
But my biggest point is, it takes me between 27/30 minutes to get to work and 31/35 to get home... Everyday. Even when there is an accident or construction. The same cannot be said about a lot of different routes to and from Nellis AFB. If you take the range road route, it could be 25 minutes to get home, but if you get hit by the light at a bad time (445pm) it will take 45+ minutes. Same with the construction at craig - it could take 20 minutes to get home or just 20 minutes to get across I-15.
Anyway, we obvisouly do not agree on this, but I can assure you it is possible to get to the base in under 30 minutes from Henderson... In addition, if you can get down out of anthem and to GV/I-215 in under 15 minutes I'd say you can be to the base in 45 minutes easy (barring an accident at I-215/us95)

I use to work at Craig and Pecos and Live at Craig and Commerce. I would actually go to Lamb and get on the 15 then the 215 and then take Losee home. Around 4 to 5pm, it would take me about 15 minutes.

Naked City is good, and near all the strip bars, crack spots, and casinos.

Just bumping this up. Besides, I hate to see a good thread end with a silly post.

I agree with Olecapt!! What gangs are you talking about in Centennial Hills? Are you telling me they will drive 25 miles to the edge of town to do their business? So the middle of the city must be the safest place then, right? LOL Sometimes I don't get what people are thinking!!!

summerlin is best! It is by far the most scenic. Lv is not known for its natural beauty, but summerlin does have the nearby mountains and ranges. The sunsets are nice and the overall feeling of community pride is great. It is a little more exspensive but well worth it. If you love the outdoors there is a fab golf course and Red Rock range is just up the way. Green Valley and Spring valley as well as Henderson have more traffic and concrete!

Beautiful mountains, sunrises and sunsets are available throughout the Las Vegas valley.
Obviously you don't know of the other, beautiful and scenic places to live in Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Henderson.
Community pride in Summerlin is provided by the Hughes Corporation and the various Summerlin Associations to which you pay your mandatory fees/fines to.
Otherwise...there is none.

So I'm in the AF and looking at houses I will be moving there in December. I was looking at houses in North LV, north of West Ann, would I be safe to bet the neighborhoods are safe? The homes now are realatively affordable, I am doing so much research on the areas but to hear it straight from you guys, I am a single female and I want to make sure I can go for a jog at night and not have to carry pepper spray. Henderson, while the houses are beautiful, I can't live that far away because I have to commute to both Nellis and Indian Springs. Please let me know if this area is good. Thank you!
