No, mostly...because that's the way I live and want my tenants to live. I like my places clean, neat, attractive. I like the value to stay current. I like when people say my homes are in nice areas.

I've not had a problem with anyone feeling "big brother" is watching them by living in my HOA homes. They already live the way the CC & R's are written, so they don't alter their living styles at all.

Certain things are bothersome though. I would like to put a storm/screen door on my rentals. In both HOA's, the CC & R's state "white door only"...I'd like a color one that matches the trim on each house.

No can do that. That's the downside to HOA's...stupid stuff like that.

I wish I could have a white door. I get stuck with a brownish gray one.
And i just saw the president of the board go by on his bicycle looking for violations yet again.

The worst thing is when you get older people on your HOA board...the seniors..home all day with nothing to do. They get into mischief... studying the by-laws, snooping the neighborhood for infractions while the younger folks are out working or home sleeping.

yeh, there was an old lady who sat in a chair in her driveway all day long just watching for violations, now she is sick and cant stay outside to watch, but sometimes if you park in the guest parking spot next to her house, she will walk outside and scream at you for that...even though she never has any guests...

Isn't getting old a violation of some HOA's?
