Default Entire Home's Worth Furniture, etc :: Need a non-profit to donate to.

Hello everyone,

I am moving out of Las Vegas (going to miss everyone here!) and I have almost an entire home's worth of furniture and miscellany to donate. Quality goods. Not super expensive but not cheap stuff either. Couches, shelves, desks, queen bed mattress, box spring, bedroom furniture, lots of unopened dry food goods, kitchen ware, office supplies, clothing, and much more. Nothing being donated is broken or dirty. Non-smoking, single adult home.

Here's what I need; a legitimate non-profit organization that will (1) carry the stuff out of my house, (2) take everything I want to donate, and (3) provide reasonable tax receipts for all goods donated. Schedule is flexible.

Thanks for your help.

Try Salvation Army. They pick up at the curb.

There is a huge goodwill store on W. Sahara. I think they will pick up.

Deseret Industries will also pick up things. And give you receipts for tax purposes. You fill out the value, they sign it.

Annie, sorry to hear about your situation. This thread is almost 60 days old and most likely the furniture is long gone.

The person in desperate need of furniture or other things can go here:

http://groups.yahoo.com/passitonlv2/ (broken link)

http://groups.yahoo.com/LasVegasTreasures/ (broken link)

http://groups.yahoo.com/FreecycleLasVegas (broken link)

http://groups.yahoo.com/freecyclehenderson/ (broken link)

craigslist: las vegas classifieds for jobs, apartments, personals, for sale, services, community, and events

There are other groups devoted to helping others as well. All of these groups you can request items within reason, also give away things, in some you can sell things, check the rules first to make sure.

Also, super cheap discount furniture can be found at Deseret Industries stores, Salvation army stores, Goodwill. Discounted furniture can be found at Savers(their prices have gone up, so check the other stores first.) And don't forget places like Walker furniture discount furniture outlet, and RCWilleys outlet.

freecycle is great place to get rid of stuff!!
When I moved a few months ago, I got rid of a ton of furniture that was pretty old, and a bunch of misc stuff that I couldnt use. It was great, I had tons of people come by and grab the items I posted and they were pretty grateful....even though some of the stuff had been WELL LOVED...LOL
Made my move, alot easier......and I was glad to see the stuff go to a bunch of families who could really use it. There also another site, thats strictly for babies and kids items, just in case anyone knows a parent that may need a little help. Take Care
